Kathleen Joan "Kathy" Foster

May 18, 1943 - December 16, 2024

Peacefully after a long battle with dementia Kathy Foster passed at Extendicare Long Term Care Home in Port Hope on Monday, December 16th, 2024, at the age of 81. Loved mother to Sue (Rob) Shulist and Jack (Shelley) Kightley. Predeceased by her son Jim Kightley. Stepmother of Lisa (Brett) Keddy and the late John (Jennifer) Foster. Cherished Nanny of Mitch, Tash, Zac, Kylie, Shelby Lynn, Erika and Jake. Proud great grandmother to her many great grandchildren, and sister of Bobby Moore and Candace Moore. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of Extendicare, Port Hope in the Mowat House for your compassion and care of Kathy over the years.
Kathy was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her faith and family were the center of her world, and she poured her love and energy into raising her children with the same values she held dear. She taught us the importance of kindness, integrity, and the power of prayer.
Kathy spent her life dedicated to the service of others. She was a pillar of strength and kindness, touching the lives of countless individuals through her work in the church and community. As a devoted Christian, she believed that her calling was to spread love and light wherever she went. Whether through teaching Sunday school, volunteering for community events, or providing support for those in need, she was always ready to lend a helping hand and share the love of Christ.
Her faith was the foundation of her life. She was a woman of prayer, a strong believer in God's plan, and a source of encouragement for those struggling in their own journeys. Her wisdom and spirit were a guiding light to many, and her legacy of service, love, and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Cremation has taken place and funeral services for Kathy will be held at Cobourg Alliance Church on Saturday, January 11th, at 1333 Ontario Street. There will be a short visitation at 11:00 with a service following at 12:00. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer Society in memory of Kathy.
Though we mourn her passing, we take comfort in the knowledge that she is now at peace with her Heavenly Father, and her legacy of faith and love will continue to inspire us all.
