Anthony Dennis "Tony" Middleton

February 9, 1958 - December 1, 2024

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Anthony (Tony) Middleton, whose kindness, humour, and generous spirit enriched the lives of everyone he met. Tony passed at the Northumberland Hills Hospital on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at the age of 66. Beloved husband to CJ Lazenby. Loved dad to Anthony (Kelly) Middleton and proud granddad to their children, Piper, Paisley, & Harper. Andrew (Autumn) Middleton and their children Rylan, Kyler, Zayne and Jamie (Janis) Middleton and their children Isabelle and Madelynn. Tony will be missed by his step-daughter, Bobbie Stoddart (Jeff), his step-grandchildren Kyle (Allysin) and Jade (D.J.), and step great-grandchildren Kemper and Milo. He was predeceased by his first wife, Susan Middleton, in 2017 and his son, Robert, in 2009—Brother of Kevin Middleton, Chris Middleton and their families. Tony will be deeply missed by his extended family and his wonderful friends.
Tony’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish a cab company in Cobourg and Port Hope, recognizing a desperate need in these communities. Through this venture, he not only provided an essential service but also formed countless friendships and made a lasting impact. Tony was immensely proud of the role he played in building connections and supporting his community.

He will always be remembered for his infectious sense of humour, his unforgettable laugh, and his unwavering willingness to help anyone in need. Tony had a heart of gold and lived a life that exemplified generosity and compassion, earning the love and respect of all who knew him.
Tony’s family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff and patrons of Export Bar and Grill, the First Responders of Northumberland EMS, and the team at the Northumberland Hills Hospital Emergency Department for their swift and selfless response and tireless efforts. Your kindness, compassion and dedication mean the world to his family and are greatly appreciated.

A visitation will be held Sunday, December 8, 2024 from 1:00pm – 3:00pm at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King Street East, Cobourg, ON. A private family interment will take place at Bowmanville Cemetery at a later date. In honouring Tony’s life and legacy and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to SickKids Foundation or Make a Wish Canada.

Tony’s absence will leave an irreplaceable void, but his memory will continue to bring warmth and joy to all who cherish him.

Unfortunately we will not be able to attend the visitation. Tony always had a smile and a laugh. He found it hard to say NO and I am sure there are many times he had volunteered to 3 (or more) events on the same day with his generous heart. Our condolences.
