Our apologies for the late message of condolence, as we only recently heard of Jordans passing. We were deeply saddened by the news about Jordan, as some of us would have gone to Trenton to pay our respects. Jordan was first and foremost a real gentleman and extremely well liked. Unfortunely he was not able to attend as many games as he would have liked because of his military career, a career your family I am sure, are deeply proud of. The last time I spoke to him, he said he would return to the club some time in the future. We plan to make a donation to the V42 foundation in Jordan's name this coming week. I still have Jordan's membership card for the club, if any of his sons are interested in it.

Adam, my handsome Man and Cindy, m'y beautiful sweet heart, m'y heart was filled with sadness when l learned the loss of your brother, l feel so sad for your family and l'm sending them so much love to get through this difficult time. l will pray for your brother Jordan so he can rest in peace. I had the good fortune to work with Jordan for a few years in Trenton, he always stood out as particularly kind and patient, and because he was so reliable and competent his presence was reassuring during stressful or complicated tasks. I just heard this news earlier tonight and am shocked by it. I knew Jordan as young man having been a teacher of his at St. Paul Catholic Secondary in Trenton. My memories of Jordan are of an always polite, always kind young man. Teachers only know part of the lives if their students. My memories of Jordan were that he seemed older than his years. Jordan always demonstrated a depth of character that I am sure always made his parents proud. Jordan put others first, and I am not surprised that he represented Canada in a military role around the world. We are so very, very sorry to hear of Jordan's passing. I, Deanna, had the absolute pleasure of growing up with the entire Mercer family for many years. I also babysat for the 3 boys and, even though they could be rambunctious, it was always so much fun. Jordan was my little helper when I would look after the boys. At first, my sign language wasn't very good and Jordan would help me communicate with Matthew, making sure we understood one another. I loved those boys ❤️ Even after moving away, we would see Pat out and about and he would always catch us up on how all the boys were doing. The pride in his voice talking about his boys was always evident. Pat, Lynda, Matthew and Adam we are so incredibly sorry for your loss and are sending you all our love. Kara, Joseph and Theodore, even though we have never met, we are sorry you lost Jordan, we are thinking of you all and are sending you love and light. We had the pleasure of getting to know your beautiful family and of Jordan through the boys skating lessons and the boys attending the same daycare which quickly turned into the exchange of friendships formed in every way. Hello Kara: I am so sorry about Jordan. Although we never met, I can tell by your facebook post that he was a very special person. What a wonderful idea to collect memories for your boys. I know it's not the same but in my genealogy research I have compiled on-line memories of some of my deceased relatives and put them into one document. Jordan was one of the first people I had the pleasure of being led by in battalion, when he was my sect 2IC on Op Podium, the Vancouver Olympics. We spent a lot of time on sleigh and foot running around Whistler’s trails that year. I had the pleasure of seeing and working with him together nearly a decade later on an exercise. May his soul rest in peace, and my prayers to your whole family.

We are still reeling from the news about the sudden passing of our cousin Jordan. It’s very surreal writing these words and trying to accept the loss of someone so young, who was full of life, and had so much love around him. To me, Jordan was the younger cousin who was so rambunctious, loved to joke around, and had a smile that could light up a room. As a kid, I would always look forward to seeing Jordan and his two brothers: Matthew, and Adam, when they would come out to Manuels with Aunt Lynda and Uncle Pat to visit. The three brothers had a special bond that continued to stay strong as they grew up. As a young adult, Jordan followed in his Father’s footsteps, leading to a life in the military. He ended up serving and completing a tour of duty in Afghanistan, followed by serving in the Canadian Special Forces. During this time, there was always an inherent risk to his life, yet he still carried out his duties in perhaps the harshest of conditions. For that, Sgt. Jordan Mercer will always be a hero. Even though my youngest daughter Allison, only met him once or twice, she was so very proud of her cousin who was “in the Special Forces”. She is currently a member of the Canadian Jr. Rangers here in Makkovik, Labrador, inspired partly by Jordan’s service. To Aunt Lynda, Uncle Pat, Matthew, Adam, Kara, Joseph and Theo, Aunt Jan, and others, on behalf of myself, Caroline, April, and Allison, we would like to offer our deepest condolences. We love each and every one of you and we will always keep Jordan close to our hearts. His legacy will never be forgotten.

In memory of a highly motivated colleague and brother, we honor his service and commitment to our shared path and Country. My father and 2 brothers have spent time in the military and I am humbled by all people who dedicate their lives to the challenges of their service here and abroad. Over the last several years of meeting Janice I have heard so many great things about Jordan and his life with Kara and the kids from both her and my great friend Sue Taylor in St. John's. I often say to my kids and friends that all we have to leave behind are memories of our own lives and while that sounds simple it does speak to the type of lives that we live that create those memories. Some people come along though that shine too brightly to be ever forgotten. By all accounts Jordan is one of those people. I have no words that can offer you peace or comfort other than that. I sincerely wish you all the peace during this trying time but all the best when you ensure your memories of Jordan are passed on to the sons. Take care.

The first time Jordan and I met was day one at basic training Borden. We became great friends all the way to Shilo together. Trips to Toronto and Winnipeg for weekends off.
