Lin Seow "Julie" Cheah

February 12, 1943 - October 9, 2024

Julie Cheah Lin Seow, passed away peacefully at her home in Grafton, Ontario on Thursday, October 9th, 2024 at 81 years of age. Beloved wife of the late Shaik Ibrahim, an amazing mother to Anna Cheah, devoted grandmother to Alexander and Zoe Galanter, a cherished aunt to Coreen Cheah, Calvin Ooi, Kim Ooi, and a loving mother in law to Mark Galanter. Beloved sister to the late Peter Cheah, Cindy Cheah, and Sally Cheah.
Kor (Julie) loved her family very much, she devoted her entire life to helping people around her. She was always there for me, through happy and sad times. Her entire being helped shape me into the person I am today. Kor made sure her family members were healthy, and well taken care of. - Anna Cheah
Ah mah was a selfless and headstrong grandmother. She always put the needs of her family in front of her own, even after she had retired. She always ate the meals I prepared and never complained no matter how weird they were. - Zoe Galanter
She was an amazing grandmother, always praying for me, giving me advice, always willing to help me before I left for school or work. - Alex Galanter
Julie was the glue that held her family together, she took care of her husband, her sisters, and helped her daughter Anna when she opened her first business. She loved all her family and was generous to a fault. - Mark Galanter
My Aunt Julie (Kor2 or Eldest Aunt) loved us all unconditionally & selflessly. With her departure, it will certainly be a ‘void’ however, we pray for her soul to rest in peace and reassuring her that we will continue to live a purposeful life. I will always remember my beloved Aunt Julie as a fun-loving person who loves me 101%, truly selfless and a senior who carried the leadership role within the family with sincere caring and love for us all. Thank you, thank you and thank you, Kor. I salute you! And, here’s my prayer for Aunt Julie : “Heavenly Father, I ask for your mercy and grace for my Aunt Julie Cheah as she begins her journey into eternal life. Please bring her into your loving arms and grant her peace and rest. Allow her to know you and open the door to welcome her in your kingdom. I also pray for those who are left behind, that they would find comfort and hope in your presence and the promise of seeing their loved one again. Amen”. - Coreen Cheah
I remembered my aunt fondly as a bold and courageous, yet kind and loving person. She took us sightseeing when we were little kids, and we loved going to the beaches all around Penang Island. She introduced me to so many kinds of different cuisines. She taught me the value of family, to always care about the ones we love, to be respectful, and kind to everyone. - Kim Ooi
She taught me things in life that enabled me to be a better person. She was my eldest aunt, the last of her generation following the passing of my parents a few years ago. Only beautiful memories are kept in my heart for as long as I am still living in this world. - Calvin Ooi
