With sadness, we announce the passing of Albert Stadtke, peacefully with his sons by his side at Northumberland Hills Hospital, Cobourg on August 24th, 2024.
Beloved husband of the late Renate Stadtke (nee Doehler). Albert will be greatly missed by his sons Brian (Jennifer) and Terry (Yona). Cherished and much loved Grandpa of Vanessa, Dylan (Mallory), Courtney and Kali (William). Great grandfather of Iris Edwards.
Albert was fortunate to have spent the past 10 years with his beloved partner Myrna Brown. Albert and Myrna traveled and had great adventures together.
Albert lived life to the fullest enjoying many sports over his lifetime with friends from the Roseneath community, Campbellford Curling Club, and Salt Creek Golf Club.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday September 28th, 2024 at the Alnwick Civic Centre, Roseneath, from 12:00pm to 5:00 pm. Tributes being shared at 2:00pm.
Those wishing to make a donation in Albert’s memory may make contributions to Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation. Thank you to Dr. Mulé and the great team at Northumberland Hills Hospital for care of Albert over this past week.

Brian, Terry and family. My deepest condolences on the loss of Albert. We will miss him but never forget his happy and warm welcoming personality. I personally will always remember his loud constant, positive cheering at our hockey games growing up, and of course all the players favourite Albert saying on the bus ride home that always got a great laugh from everyone. “Oh no, not the McDonalds again guys, I gotta get up to feed the schickens in the morning”.

My condolences for your loss. Albert was a special man. I always enjoyed my time on the ice with Albert, no matter whether we were on the same team or opposing teams. We always had a lot of laughs, usually loud ones. I also enjoyed the post-game chats in the lounge when Albert would entertain the table with stories of his life in Germany. I liked to imagine that at least some of the stories were true. He will certainly be missed.

So sorry to hear about the passing of Albert. He was quite the strong guy at the Judo club in Cobourg, of course, back in the day.
The sudden passing of this good man has shocked all those who knew him and enjoyed his company. I had the pleasure of knowing Albert from my curling days with him and on the golf course at Salt Creek. He really enjoyed these get togethers and the enjoyment was reciprocated by everyone whom he came into contact with. Will be sadly missed by the senior golfers at Salt Creek. RIP Albert.
