We were most saddened to hear of Mary's passing. She was a very loyal and dedicated member of The Concert Band of Cobourg and I enjoyed my years spent with her in the band. My fondest memory of her besides her sweet personality was having the honour of conducting her playing a solo piece which she performed beautifully every time she played it followed by an enormous smile of relief and accomplishment! Our condolences to John,Matthew and the family.
To my comrades in Cobourg , my heart felt prayers go out to the entire family. I admire you both in that wonderful uniform as i served in the Governor Generals Foot Gds. I have relatives in Cobourg and pray to get up there AND NOW MAY THE PEACE OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST WATCH OVER YOUR FAMILY AND BEING A MEMBER OF THE SALVATION ARMY . Our prayers go out to you all
John, Matthew and Family, I was so saddened to learn of Mary's passing. I went to the West with Mary, played (very briefly) in the Kiltie Band with her and had the pleasure of working with her at Legion Village. She was such a joyful soul, so sweet and kind. I hope you find comfort in your memories of her and know that you are all in the the thoughts and prayers of many who care for you and Mary.

John so devastated to read of the passing of your beloved wife, Mary! She will be sorely missed by many people! You're in my prayers and thoughts.
What a wonderful lady who was always willing to share her musical talents with others. Mary always remembered the residents in the Long Term Care homes, every once an awhile the phone would ring and it would be Mary asking "Are you folks ready to have the Corktown Fiddler's in". What a great lady who will be so missed. My sincerest condolences to her family and friends.
It is with regret that we wish to convey our condolences on behalf of the Coupland Family to the Goodie Family. Mary can only be described as a sweet and gentle soul and she will be missed. May her memory be a blessing.
Dear John and Mathew and Family, I was so sorry to read of Mary's passing. We worked together many many years ago at the Dutch Oven. When our paths crossed over the years that followed Mary was always cheerful and positive despite her health issues. Mary loved her Cobourg Concert Band community and for many years Mary and John hosted the band after the Canada Day parade at their home on Bay Street. A most kind, gentle and generous person, Mary will be missed by all who knew her. Lauren and Bruce Maclean
With our sincere condolences. May your many memories help ease your pain.

My deepest sympathy to John and Matthew. I have not been in touch with Mary for quite a while. I have known Mary all her life. My Grandparents had a farm directly across the road from the Hickerson family. When I was quite young I spent a lot of time at the farm playing with Rita and Paul. Jack, Doris, Rita, and Paul have all passed on and now Mary. Rest in peace Mary, you will be missed by many. Bonnie
Dear Goody family. Our deepest sympathy on the passing of such a gentle soul. Memories with the Hickerson family. I worked with Rita, my sister worked with her at Legion Village & Barry “chummed” with Paul years ago. Mary was always smiling when I would see her. Missing her at the Band concert but she was recognized last week by one of the band members with great fondness. Keep her memory close to your hearts.
To John Goody and all the members of the extended Goody family. I was deeply saddened to learn of Mary's passing today, leaving us far too early in her very productive and generous life. I knew her primarily through my intermittent opportunities to work with the Concert Band of Cobourg, and knew of her many years and countless hours dedicated to the success of the Band and the promotion of music in the Cobourg area more generally. Apart from her decades of work with the Band, I am aware of the many smaller groups she helped organize and played in for so many retirement homes and other situations in which her music would be so loved and appreciated. She will be genuinely missed. As my favourite poet Irving Berlin said in one of his best lyrics - "the song is ended, but the melody lingers on".
We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Mary.Like her siblings, she left us far too soon. She will certainly be missed. Ralph and Judy Grice
Margaret and I are very sorry to hear of the passing of Mary. She was a great asset and devoted friend to the Cobourg band for many, many years and she will be greatly missed.
Dear John I am so sorry for your loss. I remember Mary coming into FIRST CHOICE HAIR CUTTERS. She was a lovely person and she had a smile that was so welcoming. She would tell us where you were off to next with the concerts. I really enjoyed talking with her when she would come in. Take comfort knowing she is playing in God's concerts now.
John and Matthew and family So very sorry to hear about Mary’s passing. She always had a big smile for all and loved her music! Sweet, kind, and compassionate are just a few words to describe Mary. Thinking of you.
