It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Bill Goodrich. Bill passed away peacefully at Northumberland Hills Hospital Palliative Care Unit in Cobourg on Tuesday July 30th, 2024. Bill was the loving and caring husband to his wife Jean Goodrich (nee Davidson) with whom he spent 54 years. He is survived by daughter Nancy Blezard (late Keith), son Stephen Goodrich (Christine and her children Quinlyn and Hudsyn) and his grandsons Nathan Blezard, Brayden Goodrich (Finley) and Colton Goodrich. Bill is lovingly remembered by his sisters-in-law Beatrice Timlin (late Reg) and Cathy Setterington (Gary). He will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Bill now joins his parents Joseph and Alberta Goodrich and his brother Jack Goodrich. Upon Bill’s retirement from the Ministry of Transportation he became a volunteer driver for the Canadian Cancer Society. Once Jean retired they spent their summer at the cottage on Gananoque Lake and golfed 3 days a week. In the winter months they would plan a trip to some place warmer. The family would like to thank the nurses, PSW’s and Dr. Tisher for their care they gave Bill while in the Palliative Care Unit. A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St., E., Cobourg on Sunday August 18th from 1-3 pm. Cremation with interment in Centenary Cemetery, Roseneath. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Northumberland Hills Hospital Palliative Care Unit or Canadian Cancer Society.
We were so sad to hear a great man on Elder Road has moved to his final home. Your family members are lifted up in our thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace Bill.

Jean Nancy Stephen and families What a kind wonderful man Bill was. My first introduction to Bill was when he was transferred to Port Hope MTO from Kingston and Dad invited him to supper at our house. He didn’t know anyone in our area. Dad took it upon himself to help him meet people and one of them was Jean. From there our life was full of memories with Bill. Gananoque and the cottage, learning to water ski, shore lunches, trips to Watertown, cross country skiing. So many good memories.
