JOHN MIKARIC - August 1, 2024

It is with great sympathy for Rick and his family that I hear this sad news of his much too early passing. He will be missed. It seems our careers mirrored each other's from the early construction days at Pickering as mere kids to Darlington and then later with OPS. I will cherish those memories and have best wishes for his family in this time of huge loss. May he rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of Rick’s passing and deepest condolences to the Lawton family. I worked with Rick at OPG Darlington and always enjoyed his many stories of his band, motorcycle and time working with the Teamsters.

Donna Foshay - July 31, 2024

My condolences to Rick's family at this difficult time. It is always hard to go through the loss of a loved one. I, as so many others who have left messages, worked with Rick at Opg for a number of years. He did have some colorful stories and did think very highly of family. His family should be proud of such a hard working, resilient, and thoughtful man that he was. He is getting a well deserved rest and God willing, we will all cross paths again in the future. May God be with you all.

Leslie Dagg - July 31, 2024

Stacy Clark - July 31, 2024

Again, my sincere condolences on Rick’s passing. I just wanted to say that Rick was truly an awesome guy and great fun to work with. He had a colourful life and the best stories of his many experiences in life. From the 70’s and 80’s (my lips are sealed) to meeting Carolyn and having his kids. His time with the Teamsters and OPG and his zest for life itself. The Band and his love for music and movies. He was truly one of the most interesting and funniest people I’ve ever met, and anyone who knew him, knows what I’m saying. The most important people to him were always his Family. He talked of you often and fondly. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. Rest in Paradise buddy. You earned it. Xo

Stephen Kimmerly - July 31, 2024

My condolences to family , Richard will be missed .

Stacy Clark - July 31, 2024

I’m so very sorry to hear of Rick’s passing. I spoke to him a few weeks ago and throughout it, his concern was always about his family. Know he loved you all so very much and often talked about his family while we worked. The thing I most adored about him was his great sense of humour. He could come up with the best and funniest zingers and I could not help but laugh. He’d do this despite his personal pain. I can honestly say I had the best time of my work career working the last few years with him in the Haz building. I will truly miss him. Rick, I know you’re watching. You’re pain free buddy. Rest well. xo
