Ross was the dearly beloved best friend and husband of the late Marilyn June Adams for 64 wonderful years. He lived a life of public service, first as a North York Fire Fighter for 31 years, and in his “second career” as a volunteer in the Cobourg community, where he and Marilyn retired. Over more than 30 years, he volunteered his time and leadership serving in various roles including: the Northumberland Hills Hospital Board and Auxiliary, the Cobourg Lawn Bowling Club, the Cobourg Probus Club, as well as through his direct support of numerous community activities and events.
Ross leaves his son, Murray Ross Adams (Corinne) and daughter, Laura Susan Adams. He was predeceased by his sisters Frances Morrison (Jack) and Marjorie Carr (Stan) as well as his brother William (Bill) Adams (Irene).
Saddened also by his passing are four grandchildren: Michael Adams (Christine), Megan Adams (Tim Shyrin), Shireen Adams, and Mina Creighton (Jeremy), as well as seven great grandchildren: Logan, Ben, Madelyn, Aria, Jack, Charlotte and Elena.
A celebration of Ross’s life will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 1 – 3 p.m. in the MacCoubrey Funeral Reception Centre, with the family sharing memories at 1:30 p.m. Donations to the Northumberland Hills Hospital or the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation will be greatly appreciated.

When my husband and I decided to retire in Northumberland Ross was President of CLBC. Once we settled and looked for a nearby lawn bowling club, (Peterborough, Campbellford or Cobourg), we had no hesitation in joining Cobourg solely because of the welcoming we received personally from Ross and Marilyn. I have many memories of happy get-togethers over the years. Condolences to the family. Donna Longman

Ross served as a Director on the hospital Board from June 22, 2000 through to June 16, 2005. On behalf of the Board and Community Committee volunteers at NHH we extend sincere sympathy to his family and thanks for his service.
We were so saddened to hear of Ross's passing. The Northumberland Hills Hospital Auxiliary was fortunate to have the support of Ross for 10 wonderful years where he volunteered his time and dedication. On behalf of the NHH Auxiliary board, volunteers and NHH staff, we send our deepest condolences.

Your Dad was a pleasure to visit. He always had a smile for me in the morning. We always had our little joke in the morning. He would say now you be good. I would say to him well there is no fun in that. He would laugh every time. I well miss his smile. My deepest condolences to all his family

We are so saddened to learn of Ross’s passing though comforted that he has returned to Marilyn, his true love. Ross & Marilyn were wonderful neighbours on Greer Crescent and we miss them to this day. Our deepest condolences to Murray, Laura and their families.
