I am Christian's father, he was with Jacob in that tragedy. I never knew Jacob, but wanted to reach out. I have been in contact with Jonathan's family and there was a memorial for them Aug 18. Jacob certainly seems to have had a lot of characteristics and adventures in common with Chris and Jon. They are together forever now. We are all shattered by this loss. It still hard to even write or talk about. We grieve together [I plan on going to Atwell peak next weekend with 2 of my sons. If we get to the recovery site we may find some gear. If so, I will get it to the families of the owner] Also, I have photos recovered from the climb taken by Chris and Jon. Jacob is in some. Let me know if you want these.

It was truly an honour being able to grow up with Jacob. We spent a lot of fun times together, whether he was trying to teach me how to skateboard in the backyard, or stopping my penalty shots at the old arena (something he never let me forget!), I look back and smile at all of the wonderful memories we had together. I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Jacob. He was one of my best friends in high school and we shared many many laughs and memories together. In grade 7, He was convinced me to get my first pair of skate shoes after I spent a year at the skate park in running shoes…. he knew what was up. He taught me all the tricks and we shared many fond memories there. I met up with him in Vancouver 2 years ago and it felt as if we were high school best buds once again.
