It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our William Michael "Mike" Cowie after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mike will be deeply missed by his loving partner Kathleen Bradshaw. He was a devoted son to Bill and Teresa Cowie (nee Barry), and a dear sibling to Gary Cowie (Nicola), Tracy Morewood (Jonathan) and Dianne Turk (Toby). He was Uncle Mikey to his nieces and nephews, whom he adored, Ian (Victoria), Sean, Kelsey and Emily Morewood and Madison and Morgan Turk. Mike will also be deeply missed by their extended family and his loving Aunt Kay Herley.
Mike graduated in Mechanical Engineering and worked locally. His latest passion was running the store, Kathleen's Wears alongside Kathleen, making it a beloved part of the community.
He was the go-to technology expert, and everyone knew they could always rely on him for anything.
With his gentle demeanor and empathetic heart, Mike had a joy of the simple pleasures of life, particularly the family cottage and could be seen regularly making a good camp fire. We are so grateful to have had Mike as part of our lives.
Please join us for Mike’s Celebration of Life, Sunday, July 7th from 1-4 pm in the MacCoubrey Funeral Home Reception Centre, 30 King Street East, Cobourg.
In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in Mike's name to St. Vincent DePaul Society - St. Mary's Grafton or a Charity of your Choice.
I send my heartfelt sympathy to all Mike's family and many friends. I shared drafting duties with Mike at Cameco before I retired and have great memories of laughs and discussions with Mike. We all benefitted from his knowledge of any upcoming technology or internet related news. I will not forget Mike.
My husband and I were neighbors at the cottage. I loved talking to Mike he was knowledgeable on so many things, and shared lots of information about the lake, and boating. Great sense of humour. I will miss him. We were blessed to have him as our friend.

I knew Mike in college. We (Mike, Mike, Tom, Dave and I) spent many a night carousing together. My fondest memory is when Mike dissembled a motorcycle in our living room. Beautiful guy. RIP

Bill, Teresa, Gary, Tracy, Diane, Kathleen (and families). We are so very sorry to learn that Mike lost his flight with cancer. We know he was an intrigual part of your lives, and his absence will be felt deeply by all of you. Please accept our deepest condolences and know you are in our thoughts. There is no way to erase the pain you are feeling right now, but sometimes it helps to remember that underneath our grief, there is love. It was there before, it’s there now and it will still be there afterwards. Love endures like nothing else can.

I am deeply sorry to hear of Michael Cowie's recent passing. Although I did not know Michael well, in my brief interactions with him, Michael was always kind and considerate and clearly deeply in love with Kathleen. Kathleen, I am so sorry for your loss.
