Our beloved Dad suddenly passed away at home on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Alderville First Nation at the age of 93. He was a loving father to Jeff (Debbie), Lori, and Carol (Rob); a devoted grandfather to Ben, Shari (Brendan), and Cassandra (Aaron); and a proud great-grandfather to Rowan and Wyatt, and a dear brother to Vivian and Gloria. He was predeceased by his parents, Ross Beaver and Alberta Loukes, and his siblings Delbert, John, Perry, Doris, and Marlene. His wife, Jessie, passed on January 1, 2024.
Dad loved sports and played softball with the Alderville Trappers. He enjoyed horseshoes and competed in many tournaments. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, passing these passions on to his children and grandchildren. Over the years, he cultivated a love for gardening, growing abundant cucumbers and raspberries, which he generously shared with neighbors. For over 25 years, Dad and Mom owned the Alderville Indian Craft Store off Highway 45. Visitors from around the world would often return, drawn by the welcoming magic of their home and store.
Max was a wonderful grandfather and great-grandfather, known for his creativity and fun spirit. He taught his family the joys of fishing, gardening, and, most importantly, how to win at cards. He instilled a love for reading and old country music in all of us.
The family extends sincere gratitude to MacCoubrey Funeral Home and the members of Alderville First Nation for their support during this time.
