Suddenly, and with loving family by his side at Northumberland Hills Hospital on Wednesday May 22, 2024, at the age of 60. Cherished son of Marian Davidson, and the late Samuel E Davidson. Dear brother to Karen (Milton, ON) and Cameron (Cobourg, ON). Fondly remembered by many cousins and friends. Despite disabilities, he touched all with his good-natured spirit and quick wit. Alongside his passion for woodworking and furniture refinishing, Michael worked custodial and cell monitoring support at Cobourg OPP. A Celebration of Life service will be held in the MacCoubrey Funeral Home Chapel, Cobourg, on Saturday June 1, 2024, at 1 pm, with reception on the premises to follow. Visitation from 4 to 8 pm on Friday May 31 and one hour prior to the service from 12 - 1pm Saturday June 1. Interment of ashes to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation or the Parkinson Canada. (Michael's funeral service will be live streamed on Saturday at 1 pm., just go to our web site and click link under his photo that says view service)
Marion, Karen and Cameron .. I can’t express my condolences enough. I knew nothing of Mike’s passing till now. I am saddened, knowing why he hadn’t been on my schedule lately. Regardless of what he was going through, he was always a breath of fresh air. Enjoyed our banter very much. Though I knew him for just 2-plus years, his wit and character left an everlasting impression. Thanks, Mike, for being part of my world.
It has been quite some time since I have had connection with Mike. Quick witted and always good natured. I sold furniture refinishing top coats and supplies to him as a sales person at Vosburgh in Port Hope. Despite his disabilities and many surgeries I have never seen a man so positive with life. We would on occasion meet up randomly in passing in the area and catch up. I was saddened to see his obituary as I knew nothing of his passing. My condolences to the family.
We were so sorry to hear of Michael's passing. The courage with which he faced his difficulties and the bright spark of his spirit and humor were inspirational. Our hearts go out to Marion, Karen and Cam at the loss of such a beloved son and brother.

Mrs Davidson, Karen and Cam, Please accept the condolences of myself and family. I hope that this time of sadness is also combined with recollections of enjoyable times shared with Michael. Siblings always have special memories shared only with that person and parents remember events when siblings were still too young to recall. I had mixed emotions when informed of Michael’s passing. Selfishly I was not ready to lose my friend. My one son was not ready to lose his Godfather and all of my sons to lose their Uncle Mike. We meet many people in our youth and stay in contact with those who have a special connection. It is with those whom you have a friendship unbounded by time or distance. Those who you see after a year apart and it seems the conversation upon reunion takes up where it left off. Michael was such a person. School, youth group and the church were all backdrops for us. There were hi-jinx, jokes and a sense of comfort that came with Michael. One of our things I did with my boys was the stopping to see Uncle Mike when passing through after hockey or ball tournaments to the west. His rapt attention during the play-by-play stories of the boys and his honest interest made him a must stop. The man could hold an entire conversation with you using only his eyebrows. Not sure of a more fitting compliment than to say Michael was good people. It was that solid foundation of pure goodness that made asking if he would consider being Godfather to my son so simple and easy a decision. Michael enjoyed fishing and took fun reminding me he was also good at catching. My sadness at this loss is punctuated by the happiness of friendship that I was allowed to share with Michael for so many years. I am not sure how I can have a grin remembering at the same times as my eyes welling up. I once told Michael that he was truly a good person with an almanac of information. He corrected me by saying it was his sister Karen who was the good person and Cam, now there was someone who is an almanac of local information. Michael found it had to accept compliments and easily deferred when he thought others were more deserving. That is Michael. He is still within everyone that knew him as memories and lives forever as such. Never forgotten.

I was sad to hear of Mike’s passing. I considered Mike a friend from the time we met in Grade 1 to the present. Always enjoyed our chats when we ran into each other from time to time. Please accept my condolences.
My deepest condolences to the Davidson family. It is with great sadness that I write this message. I have so many memories of high school antics with our gang of brothers . Unfortunately life gets in the way and we drift away in different directions over time and we don't get to see each other. It was great to see Mike at the West Reunion in 2001 and in 2015 at the West Closing ceremony. RIP buddy.
Our deepest condolences Marian, Karen an Cam. Mike never complained...never...he would make the most of everything....he had titanium metal in his back from the year he had major back an neck surgery...yes ..called his hockey pool team Titanium man. The hockey pool that we entered together for years ...run by his cousin Bruce ...will never be the same....I remember Michael in Toronto hospital for quite a few months not long ago and we picked a team....RED FOX.....during covid we couldnt go see him but his sister would take a printout of my email to him....well if we didnt win first prize out of about 160 teams.....and lots of laughs...... Michael was a model to anyone with physical issues.....Always smiling , telling a good joke, an never complaining..... I saw him on his last day in hospital.........and the last picture in my mind was when I left him and we hit fists as we always did........I walked away and he was SMILING Rest peacefully my friend......going to miss you Harry.an Christine

Dear Marian, Karen and Cam, I am so sorry to hear about Mike's passing. Mike was a great friend ever since we moved to the house on Danforth Road about about 45 years ago! I will always remember our "fishing" adventures, 4-H club times and all the fun we had together. I am so glad I had the opportunity to see Mike a few times in the last couple of years and to know he never lost that sense of humour. We were reminiscing a few days ago and were always so impressed that Mike never seemed to complain about things. We were truly blessed to have Mike and the Davidson family as friends and neighbours. With our love, Greg Linton and family.
