Passed peacefully at Northumberland Hills Hospital Saturday, April 6, 2024 at the age of 93. Loved wife to the late Ernie Johns who passed in 2012. Beloved mother to Sharon (Mike) Hayward, the late Elizabeth (Jim) Hutton, Nancy (George) Zacharoupolous, Sandra (Doug) Tinney, Fred (Mary) Woolacott and Stan Woolacott. Proud grandma to her 16 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Myrtle is the daughter to the late Stan and Cora Higgins and is pre-deceased by her 3 sisters and 6 brothers. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at the Northumberland Hills Hospital especially those in Rehab, Restorative and Palliative care. A visitation will be held at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King Street East, Cobourg, ON, Saturday April 13, 2024 from 11:00 -12:00 PM with a service at 12:00PM. Friends and family will then be welcomed to the MacCoubrey Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. A private family graveside service to be held at Cobourg Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army, Cobourg Corps.

Your mom was always a very pleasant person to talk with. Sorry for your loss, but just think of all the great years of memories you will have to cherish.
Sorry to see that Myrtle has died. She had a long, rewarding life. She & Ernie were neighbours of my parents on Ontario Street for many years. (Frank & Edith Kidson). They watched the house for many years while my parents spent time in Florida. They were good neighbours! Enjoy your memories.

I'm very sorry for the loss of our grandma, We will remember and cherish the moments we had when we were younger. Our heart goes out to all my aunts and uncles and cousins during this time. Grandma you will be missed and we know that even though it's hard on the ones left behind that you are no longer suffering and are in a better place now.

As it is impossible to be to mother's funeral ( due to a prior commitment in Nova Scotia) I would like to say for anyone reading these messages that our mom was truly a dedicated mother to us 6 children. We always knew mom would be there for us! May she rest in peace.
