Peacefully at the Northumberland Hills Hospital on Sunday, February 25th, 2024, Peter Reading at 85 years of age. Beloved husband of Margaret. Cherished father of Joanna, Tamara (Michael) and Andrew (Nevila). Loving grandfather of Ian and Ami. Dear brother of Kenneth Fisher (Julie). Peter had a lifelong interest in military history, having joined the British Model Soldier Society in 1955 and later the Ontario Model Soldier Society, and was a member of the Royal Regiment of Canada, where he attained the rank of Captain. Peter worked for many years for Gulf Canada and later Petro-Canada. Upon his retirement and move to Campbellford, he found another calling as a local radio personality at the volunteer-run station, CKOL, that enabled him to share his love of music and history through shows with a focus on classical, jazz and movie themes. A private family Burial Service was held at the Cobourg Union Cemetery Green Section. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. The family is grateful to the staff at the Northumberland Hills Hospital for the care they gave Peter and asks those wishing to make donations in his memory to consider donating to the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation.
