Ted passed away suddenly on Friday February 9th, 2024. Ted was born in 1925, married to Bertha Lillian Black for 77 years who passed September 30, 2023. Ted was a long time resident of Grafton who in his younger years enjoyed fishing and racing Go Karts. At 98 Ted lived a full life leaving behind daughters Carol Wilson (Frank) and Charlotte Mitchell. He is survived by brothers Chris, 95 Port Rowan and Alfred (Fax) 93 or Port Hope. His grandson’s Brent Wilson and Ryan Mitchell share memories of grandpa along with great grandchildren Annabeth and Justin Wilson, Jack and Connor Mitchell. He shared many stories of delivering coal back in the day along with working at the Tannery and General Electric. Many thanks are extended to Denine Paige (Gillespie) whose mother was Ted’s sister and neighbours Bill and Joan Stover and Darcy Chisholm, the Jantzen family and many acquaintances in Grafton and Cobourg and his staff at Regency Manor, Port Hope for their help over the years. A graveside service will be held June 21 at 1:00pm at Fairview Cemetery in Grafton. If desired donations may be made to SickKids Foundation, War Amps or Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation.

My condolences to the family. Losing my Uncle Ted and Aunt Bert is difficult but now they are together again. I have fond memories of them when I was very young at family picnics and other get togethers. They always were smiling and showed great interest in me and what I was doing. Made me feel good. It was nice to reconnect with them over past few years. Sorry to lose Ted and Bert.
Sending my sympathies to Carol, Charlotte and families. Uncle Ted and Aunt Bert meant so much to my Mom, Ruth. Mom always enjoyed her Swiss Chalet or McDonalds meals with them both. Now they are all together in heaven, with Mom just passing herself on January 22nd. Difficult and sad times for us all but hopefully many happy memories to look back on. My condolences.

I am so sorry to hear about Ted passing. I used to run into him & Bertha once in awhile shopping. They were both very nice. I am Uncle Chris’s niece & was there flower girl when they got married. To the family, please accept my deepest condolences. Dwell on your wonderful memories.
Carol & Charlotte and Family members, my brothers passing was a shock to me. After we moved from Grafton to Port Rowan, we as a family lost track of my immediate family. May God bless you Carol and Charlotte, and all your family members as you carry on.
We have lived beside the Beatty’s for 23 years. We will miss the long talks and great stories that we got to share with him. Going out and telling him to quit raking our leaves. Mr Beatty dropping off asparagus, beans and delicious homemade cookies. May you rest in peace you will be truly missed by The Jensen family.
Carol, Charlotte and families I am sorry to hear of the passing of your dad so soon after losing his beloved Bert. I believe he was the last Graftonian of his generation. My thoughts are with you during this very difficult time. Your mom and dad will always be in that special place in your heart where you keep your memories.
