Anna Maria Di Paolo - February 16, 2024

Our family was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Dianne. She was truly a remarkable person who left a lasting mark on all of us fortunate enough to have known her. Dianne’s infectious positivity and joyful energy lit up every room she entered, making it impossible not to gravitate towards her warmth and light. Growing up alongside Dianne, we witnessed firsthand her boundless energy, quick wit, and unwavering authenticity. She was a beacon of love, support, and generosity, and her absence will be sorely felt by all whose lives she touched. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Kyle, Alexa, Hunter, Nicholas, Minerva, and Donna (Ralph) during this difficult time. May the cherished memories you shared with Dianne provide you with solace and strength as you navigate through this loss. Anna Maria, Mario, Nicholas and Alycia Sabelli

Kristin Hirst - February 16, 2024

Dianne was my son Noahs Kindergarten teacher. We hit it off right away and became friends outside of the classroom. I have never met such a vibrant personality. Dianne sparkled on the outside and sparkled even more on the inside. Her classroom was filled with dance parties, tea parties, incredible concerts and out-of-this-world crafts that we will cherish forever. Dianne truly cared about the children and their success. She put in so much time and effort, even outside of school hours, to ensure her class was reaching their full potential. Dianne and I shared our love for Bichons and she treated my little Rafa as her own, just like she treated my son like family. Dianne carried a light with her that only those who knew her can explain. This light was infectious. And I know it is still shining bright. To her dear family, I'm terribly sorry for your loss. To have shared your journey with such a woman is truly a gift. May you hold those memories dear to your hearts forever. With all of my love, Kristin

So saddened to hear about the passing of Dianne. I grew up with Alexa and spent countless hours at their house. Dianne always took me in like one of her own. She was always known as the “cool mom” at school and she brought spontaneous energy into everyone’s life. I will forever remember all the memories of spending time with her and family in Myrtle beach. She cared for me like a third child on those vacations and I am forever grateful to have known her. To Alexa and family, I hope that you find peace with her passing and realize all the people she has affected so dearly. We will forever remember her. My sincere condolences.

Dianne and I arrived at Gummow from Montreal a year apart over thirty years ago. We spent our whole careers there. Gummow was our home away from home. We shared life together with many tears and much laughter. Throughout the years, we watched our families grow and change. Dianne always had a great zest for life. There was never a dull moment when you were with Dianne. You could always count on having a grand time. With sadness, we mourn the loss of our friend while cherishing all the great memories. My heart goes out to Alexa, Hunter, Kyle, Dianne's parents and sister. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you go through such a time of great sorrow. May you find comfort in the love she had for each of you.

So many memories and a deep sadness for the loss of a vivacious spirit, who would fill rooms with her radiated liveliness and smile, and instantly make lasting impressions with all those she came into contact with. I first met Dianne on a volleyball court shortly after she had arrived in Ontario. I can still recall her playing that game with perfectly manicured Barbie pink coloured nails! Over the years following, I appreciated she was a rare and special person, so beautiful, creative, thoughtful and beyond generous. She was a unique multipotentialite. I admired her for her balance between being tremendously hard-working and fun-loving. I loved her curiosity and sense of mischief. It was exciting and a joy being in her presence. Kyle, Alexa, Hunter and families, she loved you all profoundly. My sincerest condolences to you at this unimaginably difficult time. Dianne leaves us a vast and wonderful legacy of connectedness with so many stories. I will never forget her. Cheryl McFarlane xo

Stephan and Linda Kochinky (Switzerland) - February 12, 2024

"Pray for me!" That's what Dianne told us the last time we saw her during our visit to Canada. And we loved praying for her because it was the only thing we could do for her at the time. Now we have to mourn her. And yet we know that those who mourn say with their eyes, their expression, perhaps even with their tears: love has bound us together. When Jesus wept at the death of his friend Lazarus, those who stood by realized: Look how much he loved him! Mourning is a way of carrying love after the loved one, of maintaining love beyond death.

I was totally shocked to hear of Dianne’s passing. I remember Dianne’s wonderful personality, her rapport with the students, always caring, when I was secretary at the old CRGummow school on Gravely Street. I know Dianne will be missed by many family and friends. ❤️

Dianne was a force to be reckoned with and the Queen of all things! She had a smile that was larger than life, and was an avid lover of animals. An adventure seeker, with an incredible sense of humor, and she was an incredibly loyal and loving friend. She was so very proud of her family and took every opportunity to share their accomplishments with anyone and everyone. Dianne was a one of a kind friend and she will be missed beyond measure. Thinking of you Kyle, Alexa, Hunter and family during this most difficult time. xoxox Erin and Mike
