Arnold so sorry to hear about Patti. My condolences to you and your family. I met Patti 50 years ago when she was finishing her nurses training in Peterborough at St Joes. She was commuting to Peterborough so I sometimes hitched a ride to Cobourg to see my family. I worked at Cobourg District General Hospital with her as well. Since we both retired we joined the Red Hats and we have had great times together!

I was saddened to hear of the sudden passing of my second Cousin Patti. As such I would like to share one of my fondest memories of Patti with you all. “From the time that I was very little I had always looked up to Patti. When I was about 10 years old during one of my mom and my regular yearly visits to see Patti and the family, I had told her that I wanted to be a nurse just like her when I grew up. The next thing I knew she was handing me the very nursing cap that she had worn throughout nursing school, to take home with me. I was over the moon, at being given such a precious and thoughtful gift. I cherished Patti’s nursing cap for many years until one day it was replaced by one of my own, when I too graduated from nursing school. I know longer have Patti’s nursing cap, but my memories of that special day will live on within me forever.” Please convey Basil’s and my heartfelt condolences to Arnold, and to the rest of the family for their loss.

I am Pat's cousin. Her mother and my mother were sisters and I grew up in Cobourg but moved away with my family many years ago. Pat and I were close when we were young and we loved visiting Aunt Marjory and Uncle Eric at their home on Brook Road. Aunt Marjory was famous for her baking and we could always count on having something delicious when we visited. Pat and I would make up plays whenever I slept over and we had vivid imaginations and had lots of fun. I regret very much that we didn't stay in touch more frequently but whenever we did meet or have a phone chat it always seemed like old times. I am truly sorry for the loss and sadness Pat's whole family are suffering and especially her husband, Arnie. Rest in peace Pat. Love, Linda
