Antonio "Tony" Spagnolo

February 15, 1939 - January 27, 2024

Peacefully surrounded by family at home. Beloved husband of 59 years to Lynne. Loving father of the late Eric (Lauren), and Kriston (Michelle). Devoted grandfather of Logan (Ashley), Skylar (Ashton), Ryan (Sam), and the late Jeremy. Dear brother of the late Lorenza (Julio), Valentino (Maria), and Sylvio (Ann), and brother-in-law of Barbara Zufelt. Will be deeply missed by his many nieces and nephews in Italy and Canada. Tony worked at Belden (formerly General Wire & Cable) for 55 years, and will be missed by all his former co-workers. Tony was a great lover of animals, especially dogs and always had a supply of treats for all dogs who walked by the house. He was always happiest when surrounded by family and friends, and was well known for sharing his wine with everyone. A private family service will be held, and a celebration of Tony’s life will be announced at a later date.

Kim and Kimberly LaFontaine - January 30, 2024

We were very sorry to hear about our friend, Tony's passing. We knew Tony from our daily walks past the house. Tony was always cheerful and eager to talk about the things that mattered most to him...his family (here in Canada and those in Italy), the birds, the neighbourhood, his travels (esp. the Bellagio in Vegas), his work, just to name a few. We were also the lucky recipients of his beloved homemade Italian wine, which he would go into the house to fetch, nicely packaged for our walk home. Towards the end, still out for his walks in Peace Park, he was still cheerful and even more grateful speaking about the rich life he had. Rest in peace, Tony. We will miss you.

Laurie Zabolotny - January 30, 2024

I met Tony on my walks in peace park with my dog. He was always fishing just below the bridge...he would have a treat for Lou, and a good story for me...I always looked for him every time I walked through the park or on his street...some people leave behind smiles.. he sure did.
