Ruth passed away suddenly on January 22, 2024 in her 78th year, after a long and courageous battle with C.O.P.D. Loving wife for 59 years of Ronald Wilde of Baltimore. Proud mother of Rhonda and her husband Greg Perry of Port Hope, and Ron and his wife Michelle of Cobourg. Beloved grandmother of Brandon Perry and his wife Kelsey Ross of Halifax NS, Jordan and Joshua Wilde of Cobourg and Jasmine Wilde and Eric of Peterborough. Beloved daughter of the late Milford and Wilhelmina Harren. Sister of Rege Harren and his wife Carol of Bowmanville, and the late Raymond Earl. In her early years Ruth worked as a waitress at Hoo Lee Gardens and had such fond memories of her time there. She worked the midnight shift for many years at GE (Complax) before going back to school and graduating as a health care professional. Ruth finished her working career with Access Community Service, where she deeply cared for the residents and made it a priority that they had nutritious healthy meals. The simplest pleasures in life brought the greatest joy to Ruth. A life long reader, she loved to dine out, tend to her flowers, playing her organ, a passion she held on to for as long as she could, and enjoying a glass of wine. She looked forward to her annual mother/daughter camping trips to Presquile. Ruth had an amazing ability to find happiness in her daily life, and in others. Her kindness was contagious to those she met. She always said “if you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all”. A Celebration of Life will be held at MacCoubrey Funeral Home in the Reception Centre on Saturday February 3, 2024 from 2 to 4 pm, with memories being shared at 2:30 pm. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or the Canadian Lung Association, or a charity of your choice.

Rhonda, I know all too well that you have many memories with her and your many camping trips.
