Peacefully at Lakeridge Health in Ajax on Saturday, January 13th, 2024, Diane Walker (nee Spearing) at 85 years of age. Diane was born on April 20th, 1938, in Toronto, Ontario to Barbara and Henry Spearing. She is the deeply loved wife to Dudley Walker whom she shared 65 years of marriage with. She is the cherished mother of Paul (Michelle), Peter (Anne), Hilda Sibma (Peter), and Colleen Boutland (the late Keith). Loving grandmother of Jessica, Kaitlin, Matthew, Rebecca, Elizabeth (Brooke), Benjamin, Daniel, Joshua, Jared (Jean), and great grandmother of Alizabel. Dear sister of Lynne (Ron), the late Michael, and the late Christopher. Also missed by her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Diane was very active as a lay person in the Anglican Church sharing her love for music by singing in Church choirs which is where she met Dudley. She served on many altar guilds and lady auxiliaries as well as sharing her love for Christ by bringing women to Anglican Women Renewal & Enrichment (AWARE) conferences over many years, including her own mother. After making her own Cursillo weekend she sponsored others and even served as a team leader on several occasions. There are many people Diane and I would like to thank: Tina for her years of love, support and friendship; the team at V!VA Whitby Shores for making us feel welcome and taking such wonderful care of us and ; our many friends in Grafton who provided us with years of laughter, fun, and lasting memories. Visitation will be held at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St. E. in Cobourg on Friday, January 19th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Peter’s Church (Corner of College St. and King St. E. in Cobourg) on Saturday, January 20th at 2pm. Reception to follow in the Great Hall of the Church.
