It is with heavy hearts the family of Edward Drennan announce his passing at Ed’s House Hospice Thursday, January 11, 2024 at the age of 89. Edward passed peacefully surrounded in the love of his family. Edward is the beloved husband of Greta Drennan (nee Horstman) with whom he shared 62 years of marriage. Cherished dad to Mike (Carrie) Drennan, Judy Drennan and Martin Drennan. Loving grandpa to Ryan, Sean, Tyler, Sarah, and Lily, brother to Phyllis Hubbard and uncle to Kevin Hubbard. Edward is pre-deceased by his brother Patrick Drennan. A visitation will take place at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King Street East, Cobourg on Monday, January 15, 2024 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm. A mass will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at 11:00 am followed by a burial at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery. The family wishes to invite friends and family to a reception at MacCoubrey Funeral Home in the Reception Centre following the burial. If desired, donations may be made to Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre.

Ed was a big part of my growing up and always treated me like family. He was always sharing stories of the things he did. He was a great teacher and had so much advice. I will miss him very much and I know he is not hurting anymore. My condolences to Greta and family. Love Michelle, Rene and girls.
