Dear Marilyn, Penny, Ken and families, Les was a larger than life kinda guy, with a big deep laugh (and hollar!) that is impossible to forget. I have so many memories of Father Stevenson from our trips to Orford: Les leading us down the hill for apres-lunch family ski hour, games of 31 around the dinner table with Les keeping us all honest and making sure we followed the rules! Lots of loud laughter and story telling at the end of every ski day…etc.etc. More recently, I’ve been lucky to share a few moments with you both and really enjoyed our time together… and a few laughs! I am so sorry for your loss, and will miss his warm smile and hearty laugh greatly. Sending Love and Hugs to you all. Paige

Sometimes we live around a corner or even on the other side of the country and although we keep in touch via Facebook or other family events it’s always such a shock to find out a friend of over 57 years left this world without notice. His soul winged its way to Les’s final destination leaving behind those who will miss him forever. Marilyn, Penny and Ken our hearts hurt for you while the tears seem to wash some of the grief to make it perhaps more bearable but never will we understand how life’s balancing act of a beginning and an ending become so profound as when someone leaves without a goodbye. Know that you are all in our hearts, on our minds and very grateful for having been given the precious gift of knowing the part of your lives that meant so much to ours. Dear Marilyn, this is terrible news - my whole family adored this sweet man. Stevie was George’s favourite boss/friend at Cherneys - Mr Stevenson was Cheryl’s favourite coach on his girls all star baseball team (Oh how she loved all those trips in his big brown van blaring out AC/DC!). Geordie remembers him as “a really good guy” and I’m remembering 1963 when George and I went to the Toronto Ex with the two of you! Many people are having fond memories of Les tonight.
