Marilyn passed away peacefully with her family by her side at PRHC in Peterborough on December 19, 2023 in her 85th year. Marilyn was married to Jack (pre-deceased) for 61 years. Beloved mother of Chris (Nora), Patrick (pre-deceased), Shawn (Betty Ann) and Andrea Hare (James). Marilyn adored being a grandmother to Matthew Hodgins (Miranda), Emily Steveson (Andrew), Megan Hodgins (Mert), and Jordan Hare and great grandmother to Ada Steveson and Ivy Hodgins. Marilyn is pre-deceased by her parents John and Lillian Stack as well as brothers Edward and Don Stack. Marilyn leaves behind dear sisters-in-laws Teresa Stack, Kay Weber (Ross), Maureen Hodgins and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends were important to Marilyn, each holding a special place in her heart. Marilyn’s sense of humour and quick wit made her an amazing person to talk to and share stories with. She will be forever in our hearts. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial mass at St. Mary’s Church, Grafton at 11 am Saturday, January 6th, 2024. Visitation will proceed mass at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations to Northumberland Hills Hospital Dialysis Unit or SickKids Foundation would be appreciated.
Dear Chris, Shawn and Andrea, I was so sad to her about your mom and my aunt's passing. I just heard about it last night. When I look back at how we grew up and the fun the Hodgins family had at get togethers I will always cherish the memories and how Marilyn's beautiful laugh was always present. I always thought that Jack and Marilyn were the perfect couple cause you could sure see how they enjoyed each others company. Rest in peace Marilyn.

Dear Andrea, Chris, Shawn & families. No words could express the loss of such a good & great friend. Marilyn had the greatest sense of humour & outlook on life of anyone I have known. She was such a joy to be with and someone who could make the darkest day seem sunny. I miss my nightly calls & will always think of you and her at that time. She was so proud of all of you and your visits brought her so much joy. You were so lucky to have her for your loving Mother, Grandmother & Great Grandmother for as long as you have. I hope you realize how much joy the pictures & clips of these littlest angels brought her. She couldn’t wait to show me the latest on the little ones on her tablet. The last year or so certainly have not been kind to Marilyn but her attitude was always ‘it is as it is.’ I think we have all learned some lessons from Marilyn. She & your Dad were so lucky to be with Andrea & James the last number of years who did the most remarkable job of caring for them both. I was never there that they didn’t remark about the wonderful care they were given. They were always concerned they were going to wear Andrea & James to a frazzle as they were always at their beck & call & did everything so willingly & with a smile. I will miss my good friend forever but knowing she is at peace is comforting. I am sorry I am not able to attend Marilyn’s funeral but know you are all in my heart, thoughts & prayers.
