I just today learned that Larry had passed in December. I played golf with he and Garth for a few years at Ashbrook. To me he was gentle humorous man. My condolences to your family. I will remember him fondly when I play the course. John

I’ve personally have had the pleasure and privilege of having worked with Larry for over 30 years representing the United Association. In my many years as a UA officer, I can say without reservation that Larry Cann was one of the most dedicated, hardworking and honest officers that I ever had the opportunity to work with. Throughout Larry’s long career he had a positive impact on all UA members in Canada. Rest in Peace in friend.

Erin, Adam and Family: Although I only had the privilege of meeting your Dad/Larry in person once or twice, I feel like I knew him as a close friend. A beautiful obituary written about a remarkable man that whos qualites shine through both his children. Erin, you've been a close friend for so many years and are like a sister to me. I'm so grateful for you and all you've taught me. Clearly you have so many of your Dad's qualities and traits. A pride and love that I know he had, just based on a look. Although there is a giant void, his stories will remain. My sincerest condolences.

My condolences to the family of Larry- Tank to me. I had the privilege of playing Broomball with him many years ago. Lots of found memories. And I am proud to call him a friend.

Susan, I have known Larry for over 45 yrs. Working along side with him within the Local, on many committees, attended many conferences with him, attended U.A. Instructor Training Program, I got to know Larry very well. When Larry gave his word that he was going to do something, he always followed through. He will be sadly missed by many. We all went to the same school as kids. The Cann and Howe families did some farm work back and forth. It's how you did it then. We never forget the best memories of our early years. It is very touching to see so many tributes to Larry.

I was very sorry to hear of Larry's passing. He was always so great to me as a child, when his Son Adam and I would run around the streets of Baltimore. It was much like having a second Father figure. I've seen a lot of people commenting here about him being the epitome of a gentle giant, and that is exactly how I always remembered him as well. I did not know Larry personally but rather as a customer at our dealership. Yet he treated every one here with the kindness and respect most people save for their closest friends. I wish his family hope and peace as they work through this very difficult time. The world has lost a true gentleman.

Many good memories of the farm on Dean’s Hill

I valued Larry’s friendship and advice. He was a serious man with a great sense of humor. My sincere condolences to his wife and family.

So sorry to hear of Larry's passing, I will always remember the times we spent at his Grand Parents farm and our time at North Hope Central. Our families would visit back and forth and we always seemed to be able to find some trouble to get into. Last saw Larry at the men's golf league and he had not changed a bit, will really miss him he was a great guy.

I remember the huge man with all the hair at our house, and I was fortunate enough to spend some time with him as an adult when we went South as a group golfing a couple of times. With the hair he had I nicknamed him Curly and he was a great friend and partner while we both served our Memberships. In following his rise through the U.A. I am deeply saddened to hear of Larry passing. I had a couple of visits with him in hospital. I have known Larry for about 35 years. He was a great mentor for to me throughout my apprenticeship and beyond. He would give me a nudge when needed. It was need a few times. He was always there for me when it came to the UA. I would run into Larry and Sue at the movies regularly and always had a quick chat. My deepest condolences to Sue and family. He will be deeply missed.

I can only add to the obituary by saying that Larry ( and Sue ) were the most incredible neighbors that anyone could hope to have.
