Laurie Charlene Gourd

Laurie was an inspiration. Her kindness and empathy made her a safe place for so many, and her quick smile and infectious laugh could light up a room. She will be very missed.

Laurie is such a beautiful soul, full of life and love. I remember one day talking w Laurie at Walmart, she was talking about her kids Amber and Drew, beaming with pride. Even through so heartache and fear, Laurie still chose to see the bright side. This earth has lost a beautiful butterfly. Now Amber can spread her wings and fly.

From the moment we met we knew just how outgoing and fun this lovely lady was. She had this amazing laugh that filled the air all around her. We will miss seeing you at the park, and definitely will miss what concoction you and your bestie are brewing in the fishbowl each week. Rest well Laurie. 💜 R.F.I P.

Laurie was an amazing friend even though our lives drifted apart we always stopped to say hi whenever we ran into each other. She had an amazing personality that was bigger than life, a smile that would light up any and every room she walked into and a laugh that was so infectious. I she'd lots of tears when I found out about her passing. We had just started to reconnect and it felt like old times. She will be missed by so many people. Tristan just came home from the YMCA and announced that Laurie had passed away. We which to offer our deepest condolences to her family, friends and colleagues. Laurie took care of Tristan at CR Gummow for a few years and she was a joy to talk to. Always smiling and positive, she had a personality bigger than life. She will be sorely missed. Gabe & Tristan.

My condolences to family, friends, and the Ymca family. I met Laurie through child care, as she cared for my children. She's an exceptional woman with a big heart. We are all so blessed to have crossed paths with Laurie. We are going to miss her so much, her light, kindness, and love for all the kids who were misunderstood. Allan, Amber, Drew and Jordan, I never met your Wife/Mother personally but heard many stories from my son Joe who worked with Laurie at The YMCA Day Care program for many years. Joe often spoke of Laurie's leadership, caring spirit and generosity. He says that her death will leave a huge hole at the Y and the hearts of everyone that she touched. It is hard to find the words still since learning of the loss of my dear friend Laurie. I am sending love to her family and to her YMCA family. It is not fair when the good ones are taken so young. She always had a smile on her face a good strong hug for all .As cousins over the years we always enjoyed a good laugh about the tales of our childhood together. I still can't believe she is gone. My thoughts are with the family xo.

This woman.. what can one say?? She was larger than life and a presence that was life altering... Once you met her your life was forever changed....because if she knew you in any way and when she seen you there was always the biggest most welcoming smile.. She adored life.. adored her family and cherished her friends... I have known Laurie a long time.. her daughter and my oldest daughter spent a lot of time together when they were younger.. many sleepover at eithers house. I know her through the Legion.. and through darts and of course through her adoring husband Allan... My only regret is not getting to spend more time with you. Rest in peace sweet lady..
