With great sadness the family of Edith Beverley Benson announce her passing on November 26, 2023 at the age of 86 years. Beloved wife and life long partner of Leighton Benson, mother of Tobin Brown (Martyn) and Tim Benson (Heather Tapscott). “Momma” to grand children Taylan Burgess (Tim) and their children Madeline, Audrey and Benson, Mackenzie Green (Jordan) and their daughter Amelia, Chandler Brown (Brianne Hickson), Lyndsey Benson (Devin Burnie) and Mitchell Benson (Emily Hare).
A celebration of life will be held Saturday December 2nd from 2:30pm - 4:30pm at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King Street East Cobourg, in the Reception Centre.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
Leighton, we just heard today of Bev’s passing, we are so sad to hear this news. She was such a lovely lady, and we had many a good time together in our Florida years. Our sympathies to the family, you are in our thoughts and prayers.

I will miss Bev tremendously. When I was a child, she was like a second Mom to me. She was a wonderful lady, and it was a privilege to know her throughout my life. My condolences to Leighton, Tobin, Tim, all of the extended family, and everyone who was touched by her gentle spirit.

My condolence to Leighton and family. Bev and I became friends at PCVS and then followed the 3 years of nursing school at Peterborough Civic Hospital. The class of 1958 was a cohesive group and we have had a great ride! Bev was very proud of all her family. I too, will miss her.
