It’s so hard to say goodbye to someone so loved. Carolyn was so proud of her family, especially her grandchildren. As her PSW, she greeted me every visit with “I’m so glad to see you” sometimes followed by “I saw Katrina last at CJ’s”. Her stories of spending time with her childhood friends were always so full of laughs and happy memories for her. Katrina and I miss her so much and I know how much she will be missed by so many.

My condolences to Carolyn Dalgarno’s family and friends. When Carolyn passed last week, I certainly felt a strong sense of loss, as her family and many friends will have also experienced. But that sense of loss was also accompanied by some wonderful memories of the fun we had over all the years since my return to the ‘berg’. Carolyn was clever, wry, and very, very funny. She was called “D” by some of the members of our bridge club, to differentiate her from our “other Carolyn”. I will miss you, my friend. When Happy Hour arrives, (soon I hope), I will lift a glass of Mez in honour of our many years of friendship.

To Stephen, Andrea, Susan, John and Family, I am so sorry to hear of Carolyn’s passing. I have many happy memories of spending time together, as children, and then reconnecting over the years. It has been wonderful to meet in Cobourg for lunch on occasion in the past few years. You are all in my thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time! We will miss her very much! Sincerely, Judy Caswell

Susan Novak - November 15, 2023

Carolyn, a source of everything, ( wonderful and naughty ) from the time I met her in grade 11, CDCI West, till as recently as a couple of weeks ago, in her fragile state, advising me on a decision I should make. “Susie, do it”. Carolyn, your incredible spirit, dry humour, no nonsense view of life and close friendship I continue to value, not to mention your warm, elegant hospitality, always greeting me upon my regular visits to Cobourg. Knowing you are not that 3 hour drive away, or more! I’ll continue to feel your presence. With much love, Susie

Patty Baptist - November 14, 2023

From high school shenanigans to old gals sharing a splash of wine now and then and all the bright spots of kids and family in between, you have been one of my very best friends, Carolyn, and I miss you so much already. So happy for all the lunch get togethers the past few years. To Stephen and Andrea, Susan and John, all the dear grandchildren of whom Carolyn was so proud and the rest of her family, Carl and I send our deepest sympathy with love.

Eleanor Wilson - November 14, 2023

Elizabeth Greaves - November 14, 2023

Decades of memories come flooding back - from high school years, parties, trips to explore and find adventures, our return to our home town as senior citizens- and always teasing, laughing and rejoicing in our off-spring. My deepest condolences to her family, and my heartfelt thanks for your comfort to her these last few weeks. Ralph, my brother Harold, BIll Warren and others will be waiting for her - and they will be up to some mischief or other.
