Peacefully at the Golden Plough Lodge in Cobourg on Monday, October 9th, 2023, Claude Lavoie at 81 years of age. Beloved husband of the late Joan Lavoie (nee Lingard). Dear father of Amanda Lavoie (Brandyn Petraschuk) and Tanya Lavoie (Adam Gray). Cherished grandfather of Bryan, Portia, and Isaiah. Brother of Michelle. Cremation with a Memorial Service will be held at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St. E. in Cobourg on Saturday October 21st, 2023 at 10:30 am with visitation at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. Members of the Grafton Legion Br580 will gather at the funeral home on Saturday to hold a Legion Walk Through immediately prior to the service. Interment to follow at Cobourg Union Cemetery with reception to take place at the Cobourg Legion following the interment. Those wishing may make a memorial donation to a charity of choice.
Tanya and Amanda, I am so sorry to hear of you dads passing. One memory that I have of you dad was when he brought home a puffball mushroom he found at work and cooked it up. That was the first time I tried it and think of that ever time I find one. My deepest condolences.

My condolences, Claude worked with my husband ( Flynn) at the Parks Department. Flynn always spoke highly of Claude . They made many memories while working together. RIP

To the Lavoie family…I am so deeply saddened by the loss of Claude…while it’s been a few years I will always remember our “chinwags” with fondness.

I worked with Claude for many years at the Town of Cobourg. My thoughts are with his family. I will be there Saturday morning as part of the Grafton Legion Walk Through.

I was so sad to hear this. My heart breaks for you Amanda and Tanya. I have so many memories of your dad from our preteen to teenage years. He was a huge staple in my life during that time. Always welcoming even if it was what the hell are you doing here again? Do you ever go home?lol I hope that you guys find comfort with all of the amazing memories that you have of him and that it puts a bit of a smile on your face knowing he has been reunited with your mom.
