Bertha Lillian Mary Beatty (nee Black) has passed after just celebrating her 94th birthday. She will be missed by her husband of 77 years Thomas (Ted) and her daughters Carol Wilson (Frank), and Charlotte Mitchell. The memories will be with her grandsons Brent Wilson and Ryan Mitchell and her four great grandchildren Annabeth and Justin Wilson and Jack and Connor Mitchell along with many nieces and nephews. She loved working in her prize winning flower gardens, working on crafts and spending time in the kitchen baking for all, until her eyesight failed. Her many friends, family members and neighbours have passed in her 94 years but she was a friend to all she met. Her family greatly appreciated the wonderful care and compassion during her stay at Streamway Villa and Dr. Chen and staff members on 2B at Northumberland Hills Hospital. Family and friends are invited to a graveside service at Fairview Cemetery on Thursday October 5th, 2023 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers we would ask for donations to be made to Northumberland Hills Hospital or charity of choice.
So sorry Charlotte to read of your mother’s passing. Our thoughts are with you at this time.

Ted,Carol,Charlotte & families. I am so sorry that Bert has left us but is now free of her pain. No doubt that anyone who knew Bert would agree with me that she has has had her eyesight restored & the gardens in Heaven are now going to be overseen by the most respected & competent Gardiner that we have ever had in the village of Grafton. Bert was forever my neighbour, who delighted in her flowers, and was so eager and generous to share many of her plants. Once we built our own homes Bert was ready to give us some garden plants & tips. I was fortunate enough to be the recipient of so much of her handiwork. She gave so generously and it was obvious she cared for those who she thought had the inkling that maybe there was the possibility that a green thumb like hers would appear. I’m sure Bert is remembered for her talents, generosity, kindness and also her smile that would warm anyone’s heart. The village has lost a lovely, kind, long time resident but we know she is at peace. Rest softly Bert, you certainly deserve the rest. With much love & thanks Bernadette
