Florence Elizabeth Buehler

March 29, 1924 - September 10, 2023

Peacefully promoted to heaven on Sunday, September 10, 2023 in her 100th year. Pre-deceased by her husband Amsey (1995), sister Marion Toogood (2006) and sister Dorothy McGlashan (2012). Amsey and Florence were a team, in life and in business. They were avid gardeners at their home on Ontario Street in Cobourg. Florence was the organist for many years at the Fellowship Baptist Church and was a loyal and active member of her church and community for over 60 years. Florence and Amsey were also Gideons and heavily involved in their music and youth programs. Florence was able to make all of her own decisions regarding moving to Palisades and then moving to Legion Village, her home for her final years on earth. Fondly remembered by her nephews Dave, Don (Josie), and Peter Toogood (Jean Van Dusen) and niece Linda Harris (Ron). Special thanks to Lorne Sawatsky (Carol) and Linda and Frank Beatty for their kind and thoughtful care of our dear Aunt Florence. A Celebration of Life to be held at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St., E., Cobourg on Tuesday September 19th at 1 pm., followed by a reception in the MacCoubrey Funeral Home Reception Centre. A graveside service will be held at Cobourg Union Cemetery on Wednesday September 20th at 10:30 am. If desired donations may be made to Share Word Global (formerly The Gideons)

Marie Hodgson (Lamb) - September 18, 2023

Florence and Amsey will always be remembered for being so gracious to my son, Adam and I when you least expect it. They both had a way to touch peoples' lives to brighten up their day. I will always remember that for the rest of my life. This is not goodbye but till we meet again. Love Marie.

Rev. MURRAY GRIFFIN - September 16, 2023

Florence and I had these things in common: we were both fellow believers and church organists. She always called me "NORM" (short for Normal, I think). One day Florence called me "Murray". I almost fell over. Recently she was sitting in the main lobby waiting for her laundry. I sat beside her on my walker. We didn't say a word. We just enjoyed each other's company. I too will miss her. Not only is she with Amsey and all her fellow saints, but Florence is with Jesus. My prayers are with you all.

Family members, My gratitude for Florence's life overtakes my sadness at this time. She was my piano teacher for many years, gently encouraging me to take on ever more difficult pieces. Besides that, over the years, she remained a faithful correspondent at Christmas time, sharing the good news of the season. She was a blessing to me!

Victoria Giddings - September 13, 2023
