With heavy hearts filled with love, we share the news of the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, David. David and Lois celebrated 60 beautiful years of marriage, and together they raised their children: Mark, David Brian (deceased), Mathew, and Karie (Andy). David was a loving grandfather to Luke (Jen) and Rachel (Eugene), and a proud great-grandfather to Justice, Peyton, Deacon, Alice, and Johnathon. David was also a cherished brother to Rusty (Muriel), Phillip (Linda), Joy (Eric), and Gary (Laura). His devotion to the happiness and well-being of his family never wavered, and his presence always brought warmth and joy into our lives.
He was a multi-talented individual who excelled as an artist, a poet, and a sport shooter. However, his heart truly belonged to sailing, where he found solace and excitement on the waters of Lake Ontario. Sailing was more than a hobby; it was a reflection of his adventurous spirit, and it provided him with a profound sense of peace.
David faced cancer with immense bravery for seven years. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated teams at the Northumberland Hills Hospital Cancer Clinic and Palliative Care unit for their invaluable assistance.
In lieu of flowers, we kindly request that you consider making a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society to honour his memory. Although he may no longer be with us in person, his memory will forever be etched in our hearts, and the valuable lessons he imparted will continue to guide us on our journeys ahead.
A private family service will be held at a later date to celebrate the life of this remarkable man.
