In 1955 Betty gave me my first ride in a convertible. I never forgot that and have had many convertibles in my time. I was also had the honour of volunteering with her at Northumberland Hills Hospital. The world is slight less of a wonderful place with her leaving it. Bless you Betty and your family in their time of loss.
You will be missed by many because anyone who crossed your path could easily see and feel your light, and Gerry was your light right up to his passing. A fair and astute woman, smart dresser and ready for a laugh and smile where needed. You’ve been in my thoughts often my friend, see you on the other side,

On behalf of the Northumberland Hills Hospital Auxiliary, we wish to extend our sincere condolences on the passing of Betty. For 24 years (1994-2018) of dedicated service as a Volunteer, Betty will be remembered so fondly not only for her generosity of kindness and caring, but also for her wonderful sense of humour. Always ready with a joke or a smile, Betty brightened the day of everyone she met. Certainly, Betty and Gerry formed a formidable husband-wife team as Volunteers with the Organization and have left wonderful lasting memories of their time at NHH.
I remember Betty so well, I used to work at NHH and at the old site, being a shopaholic, I was always at the gift shop during my breaks and Betty and Gerry would talk to me since they were in charge of the shop. They were both so nice. Bette had an eye for fashion and window displays and she did it very well. She was always on "Alert mode", nothing got past her. I used to call her "My flea on a hot brick". Rest in peace dear Betty, I will always remember you.
So sorry to hear of Betty’s passing. She had a great smile, dressed to the nines and you didn’t have to wonder what was on her mind. Having said that, she had a soft spot for anyone who needed a hug or a friendly word. Condolences to her family. Simone
Betty was my absolute favorite resident. I know they say don't have favorites and don't get attached but, I just adored her so much. I will treasure the time spent with her as her PSW. Thank you for showing me kindness, love and light. You will be missed dearly.
Betty was a part of our church family at Trinity United Church and she would participate in whatever was going on with enthusiasm. That Gerry was a rock in her life so is the Lord in her death. I have missed our talks and her lively presence. ❤️✝️
condolences to the family...i had the priveldge to meet Betty and Gerry when they moved into Oxford court...a genuine lady who made you laugh...she was tough and fair and always had a laugh and a story to share...I will miss that and miss you Betty...thoughts and prayers for the family
Condolences to the family of this wonderful woman. We had many conversations at NHH and around town. I hope your memories, family and friends help with your loss.
Ron and I always enjoyed our conversations with Betty- she was so stylish and never failed to call a spade a spade. Our sincere sympathy to all of her family.
I met Betty & Gerry at a terribly difficult time in my life, when my Mom was hospitalized at NHH for many months. Over time, we became friendly, they learned our story and Betty became a a voice of comfort to me, and at times provided the hugs my Mom couldn’t give. Such an amazing woman with a capacity for such compassion and kindness. It meant the world to me. Long after my Mom was released from hospital, and I would see Betty in town, she would give me a big hello, a hug and ask how we were doing. I can’t imagine that time in my life without Betty in it. I offer my most sincere condolences to Betty’s family during such a tremendous loss. I hope my story makes you smile and even more proud of this very special lady, who became so important to a stranger in a time of need.
My dear crusty old friend I miss you and love you forever!
I am saddened to hear of Betty’s passing. I enjoyed our conversations while visiting my parents at Extendicare, Betty visiting her sister Margaret. A lovely lady - always dressed to the nines! Rest in peace Betty.
My condolences to Betty's family. She was one of a kind. Always dressed sharply, always a straight shooter. I am glad for the conversations we had in years past. I learned alot about the things she was passionate about. I wish you, her family, well in dealing with her loss.
