Passed away peacefully at the Golden Plough Lodge on July 9th, 2023 in his 93rd year. Above all, Jim’s greatest legacy was his family. He is predeceased by his loving wife Jean Nairn (nee Ingram) and his parents, Walter and Maggie Nairn (Sinclair). He was a devoted father to Janice, Jim (Darlene), Kathy (John), Julie (Jim), and Peter (Kristina), a proud poppa to his grandchildren, Tyler (deceased), Travis (Deb), Tiffany (Cory), Andrew (Brittany), Curtis,
Jordan (Sarah), Matthew (Brooke), Adam (Marco), Justin (Katelyn), Maggie (Tyler), Molly (Brock), Emily, and Ben and an inspiration to his great grandchildren, Avery, Noah, Anjolina, Cash, Lachlan, Camden, Lennon, and Londyn. He is predeceased by siblings Cathy, Elsie, and Robin, beloved brother-in-law to many in the Ingram family, and cherished by nieces and nephews in Canada, Scotland, and Australia. He was the honoured Past Master of the St. John’s Lodge #17, past President of the Cobourg Lion’s Club and a proud member of the Cobourg Legion. The family would like to express our sincerest thanks to the wonderful staff at the Golden Plough, Dr. Teresa Reynolds, and Dr. Emma Smith for their exceptional care of our Dad.
Visitation will be held at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King Street East, Cobourg, on Friday July 14, from 5 to 8pm and on Saturday, July 15, from 10 to 11am. A Masonic service will be held at 11am, followed by a public funeral service. Interment at Cobourg Union Cemetery with reception to follow at MacCoubrey Funeral Home Reception Centre. Service will be live-streamed on the funeral home website at the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a memorial donation to the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation or a charity of their choice

Jim was probably the very nicest man we have ever met. He made everyone feel special and showed true interest in everyone. He was always interested in what was happening in our lives and never forgot to ask how our son was doing at University. He was a wonderful companion to my Aunt Barb and they enjoyed many hours together. He spoke so lovingly of his family and was so very proud of all of them. He was a true gentleman!
