It is with broken hearts that Pat’s incredible journey has finally come to an end. This happened on Sunday June 25th, 2023 at the age of 58 at Belleville General Hospital.
Pat was born with very challenging conditions which, encompassed a gazillion treatments, medical visits, side effects and long term complications.
Patty was an inspiration who touched the hearts of everyone that crossed his path.
Pat was the fourth child of the late Donny Simpson (2002) and the late Ann Simpson-Neild (2018) and step-son to the late Robert Neild (2021). Brother to PearlAnn (Alan), the late Michael (2008) (Beverley), Alex (Michelle) and Jamie (Bobbie-Jo).
Uncle to Ashley, Phillip, Amanda, Christopher, Adam, Alyssa, Andrew, Austin, Alexandra, Madison and Mason. Great uncle to Wyatt, Eli, Aurora, Megan, Jacob, Tyson and Jaxson.
Patty will be deeply missed and continuously loved by many cousins and friends. His absence will be tremendously missed by the staff at Crown Ridge Nursing Home, Pathways to Independence and Quinte Access Transportation.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to QHC Trenton and Belleville especially Dr. Andrew Samis and the nurses in the ICU.
A very special thank you to his “GET OUT OF JAIL” as he referred to his nursing home. To Pathways to Independence in Belleville without them Patrick would not be able to go out on his day events. Scott and Hannah you both are very special kind people.
A visitation will take place at 1pm at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King Street East Cobourg, on Friday July 7, 2023 followed by sharing of memories at 2pm.
Friends and family are welcome to join the family for a reception in the MacCoubrey Funeral Home Reception Centre where you can continue to share more stories, laugh, cry and remember how Patrick was such a strong willed, tenacious, sneaky character and last but not least what a joker he was.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Pathways to Independence.
Sorry for the loss of an amazing young man. Patrick was one of a kind. He is very missed at Crown Ridge by many staff on the EW The wing will never be the same. Miss you buddy. RIP

A large void will be present in the lives of Pearl, Allen, Skip, Lynne, Kendra and their families. Without all of you Patti would not have had the quality of life you afforded him and with his absence your days will all be affected for some time to come. Our thoughts are with you all.

To PearlAnn And Family: I am so sorry to hear of Patrick's passing. I had many conversations with Patrick and they were always interesting. He was all that you said he was, Pearl Ann and more. He struggled but never gave up on his dreams. May he have the peace that he deserved and the freedom that he needed You are in my thoughts and prayers for the wonderful care and love you gave to Patrick.

My sincere sympathy is extended to Pearl Ann and Patrick’s family during this sad time. Patrick was a wonderful room mate to my precious husband Arthur Thiel. Patrick always looked out for Art and I loved that about him. Rest in peace dear Patrick.

Even though Pat was under close medical care all his life. His will to live was stronger than anyone I know. He had amazing stamana. Something we can look up to and continue to learn from. He is now free from all that kept him. Condolences to his family. May he RIP.

Sincere condolences. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Pat picked apples with us as a fairly young child picking up grounders. He was quite a kid and we enjoyed the time immensely. He was indeed an inspiration.
