George Edward Earl Hinds

September 10, 1950 - May 28, 2023

It is with heavy hearts we announce George passed peacefully at Ed’s House Hospice Sunday, May 28, 2023 at the age of 72 surrounded by family. Lovingly remembered by his partner and soul mate, Kay Edwards whom he spent 29 years with. Loved step-father to Sanchia Edwards (Blair Melton) and Liam Edwards (Laura Feyrer). Cherished grandfather to Ione Edwards. Brother to Mary Ann, Austin (Sandra), Bob (Sharon), Candice (Ian), Roger (Patty) and pre-deceased by his brother Jamie and his mother Rose. George will be deeply missed by all of his extended family and friends.

George had many friends who he loved catching up with and cared about greatly. He had a passion for music, and thoroughly enjoyed playing guitar with his friends. In retirement he also took up painting and photography. We will miss his repertoire of jokes which he loved to tell any chance he got.

As per George’s wishes, cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre.

My brother George never was a great student ,but he was the kind of guy that made friends real easy. In his teens and early twenties he thumbed his way across Canada a few times. He had many interesting adventures many of which he wouldn't remember. He had a couple of different careers and made many life time friends. He loved telling jokes and playing his guitar. Twenty nine years ago he met Kay whom he said was the best thing that happened. They went to many beautiful places in the world. He took many pictures which he loved to do.The last thing I want to say ,if you didn't like my brother George there was something wrong with you. Love you George Rest In Peace

Karey Ingalls - June 3, 2023

My sincere sympathies to George’s family and friends. I knew George through Cal and Norah Morrison and spent many happy times with him at their home in Bracebridge. George was a true character a great lover of music, good food and a jaunty hat! Rest easy George.
