Its been a whole year since this amazing man passed. And its left quite the gap. From his almost daily phone calls. Hearing him proudly speak of his family. To the silence wishing i could call him one last time. He was the father i always needed, and the teacher no one thought he'd be. I miss him more than words can explain. I only hope he is at peace.

Jill and family, we are so terribly sorry at the loss of your father. I know he was going through some serious health issues, and you were right there by his side trying to help him make some very important decisions. Our thoughts are with you and yours at this tough time.
My deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Thomas Joseph John Fanning, who so gracefully transitioned from this life surrounded by love. I am deeply saddened by the loss of such an esteemed community member. Although I never had the privilege of meeting Tom, the impact of his life is evident in the love and respect voiced by those who knew him. Tom was a cherished husband, a devoted father, and a proud grandfather. His legacy will undoubtedly live on in his children, Dan and Jill. His adoring grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Maxine, Marshal, Macie and Elsie, and all the family members who hold him dear in their hearts. I see Tom's enduring spirit in the love and dedication of his daughter, Jill, who works tirelessly for Alderville First Nation, embodying the values Tom instilled in her. I pray that we, as a community, honour Tom's memory by standing united and remaining committed to the values he exemplified. He inspires us all, and our community will continue to feel his influence. May we all find solace in our shared memories of Tom, and may his soul rest in eternal peace. In his memory, I urge everyone who can to consider a donation to Diabetes Canada or a charity of your choice. David Baker, Alderville First Nation

Condolences to the Jaynes family. Sorry for the loss of your Mom.
Joanne and I are saddened to hear of Tom's passing. I recall many childhood memories of weekend family outings with no particular destination until eventually mom or dad would say "should we stop to see Tom and Janice?". We kids would always yell out yes! We'd arrive in the afternoon and wind up there for supper. I remember playing hide and seek in the barn and occasionally "helping" draw in those darn small round hay bales with bale hooks. In the last several years, Dad and Tom had many long talks of their own adventures and found support from each other through their own difficult times. So many good times.
Condolences to all of Toms friends and family!!! My grandparents Eric and Lillian Sandercock lived next door to the Fannings for the 1st 19 years of my life on Burnley road/County Road 29!! I will never forget all the kind gestures that Tom/Janice showed towards my grandparents!! Real friends that always were willing to help out with whatever needed to be done!! My dad Hugh worked with Tom at General Motors Oshawa for many years!! Tom served as a pallbearer in April 1977 when dad tragically died in a motorcycle accident!! Tom was a rock of support for me in helping me adapt to life without Hugh!! Another great person who lived the farmers lifestyle to the end!! Rest in Peace dear friend!!! The world has lost a great one!!! Tom was real proud of both Dan and Jill and his 5 grandkids!!! Love Reg and Heather!!!!
My sincere condolences to Anne and Tom's immediate family, whom I did know. I have known Tom all my life and, although distance kept us far apart for many years, it was so good to reconnect with him at the Roseneath Fair.
