I have such fond memories of Gene, our neighbor and of course such a friendly and kind postmistress. I often went into the post office not for any reason other than to visit with Gene hoping that some of her genuine nature, her love, warmth and smiles would rub off on me. My condolences to Kathy, Evan, John, Peter and the entire extended Jaynes family.

I so remember coming to the house and asking Gene where Clarence might be. I was there to check his crops. It would take a while to find him and then a lot longer to talk and enjoy the conversation. What a wonderful kind lady.

I knew Gene as our postmistress, and she was lovely to deal with. But it was always such a treat when she had a moment and shares some of her great stories. She was a wonderful, special lady missed by our community

Condolences to the Jaynes/Waldie families on the lose of a very well liked colorful unique mother/grandmother!! Looking back to the 70s and 80s i remember my grandparents Eric and Lillian Sandercock having strong interaction with the Fenella/Roseneath/Grafton/Centreton/Baltimore/Cobourg area!! Olden days meant alot more social events and interaction amongst families and Gene was a constant in so many of these events/visits!! Rest in Peace Gene!! A life well lived who was a true friend to everybody she interacted with!! Fond memories that last forever!!!
