It is with profound love and heartbreak, Carolyn Boyd’s wife, Mary, announces Carolyn’s passing, Friday March 17, 2023, at the age of 79. Her exceptional end of life care was provided at The Bridge Hospice, Warkworth. Mary and Carolyn’s friends want to thank the compassionate and caring staff, nurses, PSW’s and administration that provided support, respect, and skill during her stay and particularly in her final hours. Special gratitude to Dr. Kelly Parks, who devoted her precious time and expertise to both Carolyn and Mary over the length of Carolyn’s illness.
Carolyn’s strength, integrity, amazing wit, and dry sense of humour was felt by all those who had the opportunity to know her. She was a strong woman with a quiet grace that belied the depth of her wisdom and engagement with the world, her friends and family.
Carolyn was an avid gardener, excellent athlete (pickle ball), lover of historical fiction and biographies and quite the extraordinary handy person. She was a maker of exceptional music playlists that were prized by her friends who received them. The bird houses she built became a collection for all to admire. Her favourite pastime was dancing with her Mary. Further to her many accomplishments was her love of fashion and her shoes…. Carolyn was always immaculately attired.
Remembered by her loving and adoring wife Mary Campbell. Predeceased by her parents Doreen and Ed, her brother Bill and twin brother Robin. Missed by her sister and brother-in-law Jane Campbell and John McLeish. Her pets, Archie, Maude, Lyndsey, and Alice were like family to her.
A small private gathering will be arranged at a future date in celebration of Carolyn’s life.
Those wishing to make a donation in her memory may do so to The Bridge Hospice in Warkworth.
Forever in our hearts, she will be missed and dearly loved.

My deepest sympathy to you Mary, and to all who knew and loved Carolyn. I was shocked to learn of Carolyn’s passing - she always struck me as so solid and strong and vital. Must have been her smooth dance moves, the twinkle in her eye and that slightly mischievous smile. I hope the deep love the two of you held for each other will provide some comfort in your grieving. That is a very special gift the two of you enjoyed. Not everyone gets to have that. Hold it close in your heart and your memories - Carolyn will always be there. I am truly so very sorry. John and I send our love and condolences to our sister Mary. Mary was the best possible wife and looked after Carolyn with love and compassion to the very end. We remember Carolyn as a wonderful partner to Mary who made her life so full for so 22 years. She was a dear part of our family who enjoyed family celebrations, and loved seeing our great niece and nephews. Carolyn always helped in the kitchen after large dinners and made clearing up so much fun with her dry sense of humour! Carolyn was especially supportive to Mary during her medical challenges. We always admired her devotion and calm resolve to help Mary in every way. We have lost a member of our family but we will never forget her kind and gentle ways. She will be greatly missed by all.
Mary, I will remember you and Carolyn dancing together at your home in Warkworth, how you were both in unison. The parties at your pool and Friday Nights at Theresa's when we all got together for dinner. You both lived and laughed and loved each other. So many rich memories of Carolyn, her humour, and her love for you.
Mary, sending my deepest love and affection❤ One in a million girl? with a killer smile and a wicked sense of humor. Much love beautiful?

Mary - so happy you were able to spend Carolyn’s precious last days at The Bridge Hospice. I played many fun games of pickleball with Carolyn. Thinking of you both?
Carolyn was a dear friend, who had a quick wit and a boisterous and joyful laugh. We always enjoyed our times with her at our home in Warkworth and our cottage, and at the many social events we shared. We will miss her.
There are few words to express my sadness on the passing of Carolyn. I will miss her captivating true life stories and extraordinary talent at so many things. Mary: So sorry to hear of Carolyne's passing: We had great times together over the years. I loved her dry humour but was always proud of her backing the guys with AIDS at the Casey House where she had worked. She was deep down a warm loving caring person. Mary I am here if you want to talk. In sympathy; Tom Cunningham
Mary, I'm so sorry to hear of Carolyn's passing. I will always remember and be grateful for, the warmth and friendliness you both extended to me when I first moved to Warkworth and felt so unsure of where I was. Your devotion to each other was always so tangible. May her love and presence always be with you, and give you comfort and strength as you forge ahead in this unknown land. Sheree Rasmussen
I was one of those pickleball gals that enjoyed playing with and against Carolyn; she had a great game. She was also one of the loveliest people I have met.
