It is with a sense of peace yet profound sadness, we share that after a heroic and courageous battle, Don’s cancer and dementia journey has ended.
Don passed peacefully at Ed’s House Respite Centre with his wife, Pat by his side on March 19, 2023 at the age of 87 years of age.
Don was so very proud of his sons Ray and Glenn, who predeceased him and by his surviving son Scott (Marie-Lou). His life was made complete by his two grandsons, Gabriel and Josh whom he adored. They all brought sunshine into his life and he loved them all so much.
Don was the owner of Mailcrafters Canada Inc. for 23 years before he retired and prior to that worked for Bell & Howell while living in Toronto.
Don’s love for travel gave him the opportunity to visit many countries and visit countries that he only ever read about in books. His dream was to see the pyramids in Egypt and to walk on the Great Wall of China and his dreams came true.
Don was also a very humble member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings while a member of the church. He enjoyed his opportunity to serve and asks that in lieu of flowers, and in his memory, that donations be made to Ed’s House Respite Centre, located in Cobourg, and to have everyone do a good deed for someone and ask them to pass it on.
A celebration of Don’s life will take place at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 8224 Danforth Road West, Cobourg, Ontario on Saturday March 25, 2023. Visitation will be at 11:00 am and the funeral will take place at 12:00. You can share memories at www.maccoubrey.com
