It is with the most profound sadness and broken hearts, the family of Rory McCormick announce his unexpected passing at his home Sunday, March 5, 2023, at 29 years old. Rory was the best dad to his greatest gifts, his children Isobel and Gabriel McCormick. He was the cherished son to Bob (Heather) McCormick and loved son to his “mama” Sherri Watson. Rory will be deeply missed by his brother Bryan (Sierra Jessup) McCormick as well as his best friend, Patrick. Rory loved all his small critters including his bearded dragons. He was loved by so many including his aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, extended family, and friends. The family would like to extend their gratitude and thanks to all those who have reached out to them to express their sympathies. Your love and support has not went unnoticed. A private family celebration of life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Northumberland Hills Hospital Community Mental Health Services.

I would like to express my deepest sympathy for the loss of a truly kind and special soul. Rory had a smile that could light up any room, and was caring to all those around him. It is tragic he was taken so soon. Rory will cherished in our hearts forever.

I have just heard the incredibly sad news of Rory’s sudden passing. Our hearts go out to all Rory’s family and friends, especially his 2 children that he absolutely adored. We were so grateful to have had Rory as part of our Papa John’s team, his personality was a sheer pleasure.
Rory lives on within our sweet memories, his smile, his light, his jokes are not lost. Though we will miss his gentle touch, we could never lose his most noble virtue, his heart. Death can not take that away from anyone. His love lives, just now from a distance. Rory my heart is so broken. There will never be a day that goes by that I won't see and feel your beautiful beaming smile and smile back just at the thought of you. We all miss you in ways words could never express. You will always be a part of every moment and every memory we make. We will bring you with us throughout all that we do and we will make sure your beautiful children are surrounded with so much love, play, and laughter, because we know that's what you would have given them and what you would want for them. Thinking of Bob, Bryan, Sherri and Heather, and to anyone else that is deeply affected. Rory will be missed by many, I am glad to have shared so many great times with Rory from Darien lake to just hanging out at the McCormicks house, going to Bryan’s hockey games, the list could go on! Rory was one of the few people that could make me laugh uncontrollably, I will always cherish the times we got to spend together, goodbye for now Ror. Until we meet again.

I feel your presence and know you are still watching us gather together like never before in our grief. You brought us all home to you and to each other. I make a promise to you at your Auntie... There aren't any words that can take your pain away. Our hearts broke when we heard the news. Rory was such a special person, so well mannered, polite and an incredibly unique sense of humour. We are honoured to have known him and have had the opportunity to have created memories that will last a lifetime. We are so very sorry for your loss.

My heart breaks with the news of Rory’s passing. Rory and I dated back in grade 8 and in highschool when he lived with his grandma in Toronto. I am so grateful for the memories we made. I know he’s at peace now and no longer fighting his demons. Rest easy Roar, until we meet again xo
Bob, Heather, Sherri, Bryan & Sierra. You have lost a Son, brother and a piece of your Heart. Patrick, you have lost your best friend, but most of all Isobel and Gabriel you have lost your daddy. Rory always put his kids first. He had a good repour with us and our family. I remember his smile would light up the whole room. The day he came through the hospital doors into the waiting room with his arms wide open and so thrilled he had his first child (Isobel) Rory, you will always live in our hearts, and I ask for those you left behind that God will wrap His loving arms of comfort around them while they grieve your loss. Dearest condolences 💐 I will always remember Rory as a part of my high school experience when I first met him we automatically connected and became friends forever! There’s never been a time Rory was not the most supportive friend I could of asked for. I’ll always remember his smile in the back of my mind laughing together and reminiscing about our memories. May he rest peacefully and may both families heal from this tragedy.
There are no words to adequately express the heartache felt by Rorys passing. It will be up to us to ensure Izzy and Gabe keep the memory of their daddy alive in their hearts and minds with stories and pictures. My heart goes out to all of Rorys family and friends.
