Died suddenly at Northumberland Hills Hospital. Lynda was a passionate, intelligent, loving, full of life lady who will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She was a Durham College grad and a retired OPG Darlington employee. Lynda was born in Montreal, the first of five children of Joyce and Doug Aggett. After her first child Melodee was born in Montreal, she and her first husband George Bulgin moved to Newcastle, Ontario where her second daughter Melynda was born. Several years after her divorce from George, through the Single Parent Family Association, she met and later married Bill Pinkerton in 1990. They initially lived in Oshawa but after Lynda’s retirement from OPG they moved to their lakefront property near Gores Landing on Rice Lake in 2002. Lynda was a member of the Oshawa Curling Club and later the Dalewood Golf and Country Club. Lynda gave up curling a couple of years ago at the West Northumberland Curling Club but continued golfing primarily at the Port Hope and Dalewood clubs. As well as life at the lake, Lynda enjoyed painting, sewing and decorating. She was pretty good at all of these endeavours. Lynda also loved to travel, most often with Bill, but periodically with other members of their extended family. Phoenix and area was a frequent destination to visit her parents Joyce and Doug Aggett prior to their passing several years ago and her three sisters and their families. Other holiday destinations included ski trips to Quebec, Mt. Tremblant, Mt St. Anne and the Eastern Townships and Montreal to visit her brother and family. Abaco’s Treasure Cay, Myrtle Beach, Florida, Mexico, Cuba and Belize were among her winter destinations. A century old log cabin family camp on Lake Achigan, Algoma District was usually on her agenda after black fly season. Lynda will be greatly missed by all, but it is especially true of those closest to her, including husband Bill, daughters Melodee and Melynda (Jay), their children Brooklyn and Chloe, step children Jane and Jim, and their children Leah, Luke, Robert, Daniel, Nyah and Sarah, her brother Gary and sisters Rhona, Star and Bonnie, and her honorary grandchildren Jenna, Sara, AJ and Cory. A celebration of Lynda’s life will be held at MacCoubrey Funeral Home 30 King St. E., Cobourg on Sunday February 19, 2023 from 1 to 3 pm. If desired, donations in Lynda’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Dear Bill and family, There are no wards to adequately express how sorry we are to lose a very dear friend. Curling and golf brought Lynda and I together and I felt a special connection right from the start! We recently gathered at The Beamish for lunch which became extra special when Lynda arrived! Even a snow storm could not keep her away! Tears of laughter followed as she shared her Pig Costume stories! Lynda made everything better with her presence- loved her family and so proud of her granddaughters! She has left a wonderful legacy and will be deeply missed. I am away and so sorry to miss her Celebration of Life. Bonnie Mactavish

Lynda was a positive life force who touched so many lives. We met 12 years ago when she joined our Tuesday Port Hope Ladies League bringing with her a passion for golf, a large capacity for fun and her impish grin. Lynda was a strong, beautiful golfer who shared her warmth, friendship and love of life with each one of our Ladies League. She was a beloved member and strong supporter of the PHLL and every golfer, including me, was delighted when Pinky played on her team. I offer my deepest condolences to Lynda’s large, loving, close-knit family. May your sorrow be tempered by the joyful, loving memories that Lynda left with you.
Our sincerest condolences on the passing of Lynda. I have many fond memories of her laughter and how she truly loved family and friends. She treated all of us “Landing kids” as her own and would always make sure we had eaten as we were always out running around the lake. God bless you Lynda, you were a good one!
