Peacefully in Cobourg on Tuesday, January 17th, 2023, George Cunningham at 91 years of age. Beloved husband of Connie Cunningham. Loving father of Lee Jessett (Bryan) and Anne Preston (Terry). Cherished grandfather of Clayton (Kalinda), Kristin, Ashley (Mikel), Hannah (Jean-Luc), and great grandfather of Luke and Emma. Predeceased by his siblings Phyllis, Frank, Mary, Charles, and John. A private family interment was held at Cobourg Union Cemetery. Those wishing may make a memorial donation to a charity of choice.
Dear Connie: Saddened to learn of George's passing, but fondly remember meeting up with you both at meetings and outings of Willow Beach Field Naturalists. He will be remembered for his smile and the warm greetings he extended to all. I still attend the WBFN club meetings in Cobourg. Don Davis Toronto
Connie ,Lee ,Anne . George as my neighbor was a great man and very understanding . My one memory that stands out was ,as a child/youth was when I put my basketball through his living room window and before it could be repaired the rain came down horizontally.(Sorry one more time ) My thoughts are with you all during this sad time . Dear Connie, What can I say? George was part of a group of friends that stayed close through their whole lives. it was something very special. He and Johnny were best buddies who shared some great times. It is so sad to see it all come to an end. But Connie, your memories will be filled with good times of a long and happy life together. Condolences to you Connie and all the family. Growing up in Cobourg I was fortunate enough to know all the Cunningham family and went to school with Doug and your sister Rosemary. We lived across the street (Perry St.) from the Cunningham’s in the late 50’s. George was a pleasure to know! May he now Rest in Peace.
