I met Colin in Grade 10. At the time I had a lot of health issues. I wasn't at school much and when I was, I wasn't the happiest person out there. But from the day we met, Colin tried his absolute hardest to reach out to me. At the end of that year, my family pulled me out of school. I didn't see him, or most people really, until I came back for prom. I was pretty nervous about seeing everyone again and... well, at first, it didn't go so well. I was about to leave and forget the whole thing. That's when Colin walked in. He was so happy to see me. He told me he saw my name on the guest list and specifically asked if I could be seated next to him, just so I felt welcomed. He anticipated how awkward a situation that would be, and went out of his way to help me... it blew me away. It was such an act of kindness. The fact that he could touch the heart of a person who was trying to keep everyone at arm's length is a testament to how special he was. I am so glad that someone like him was so loved. And I'm so sorry that someone who shined so brightly is gone so soon. My love and condolences go out to his family and friends.

From the day we met in Grade 9 at AHS Colin became one of my best and most cherished friends. So many of my favourite memories in highschool and beyond involved Colin. He had the best sense of humour. He wore his heart on his sleeve. I’m so grateful for the countless conversations, dances, and belly laughs shared. Colin was a connector and brought so many people together. I’ll never forget the times just hanging out in your basement, to driving around town blasting music with new licenses, to prom, to concerts, times at the cottage, I could go on. We are fairly recent members of the West Northumberland curling club. We had the wonderful opportunity and pleasure of meeting Colin last year (2021/2022) at the club where he was our favorite bar tender! We looked forward to seeing him weekly where he always served up drinks with a huge smile and good humor! He even used to go out of his way to make Sue's hot chocolate and deliver it personally to her table! We got to know him on a bit of a personal level and thought very highly of him. His gentle manner and kind soul shone through. We were devastated to hear the news of his passing and send you our deepest condolences.
