i have such wonderful memories of Shirley's wonderful laugh. It was especially terrific when she cooked a turkey when we were feeding folks who would be alone at Christmas, let's just say the gravy was a little different !
Libby, I am so sorry for your loss. sincere condolences. Ellen
Libby, Shirley was a wonderful person. She was always so full of energy; one would never have guessed her age. Such a loving person and partner to you and those around her. She will always be by your side. Carol and Eliza
Libby and Bob, I am so sorry to learn of Shirl's passing. Though I met Shirl only a handful of times, I know she will be sadly missed for the lovely person she was.
I was a friend of Shirley's dating back to the early 70s. Her and her partner and myself and my partner lived in a tiny little house on Mack Ave. We all got along very well in very close quarters. Shirley and Doreen bought a swimming pool one summer, we had many pool parties with friends and family. Shirley was very quick witted and made us all laugh. We played cards , cooked dinners together it is a very memorable part of my life. I did not see Shirley for many years after I moved to Victoria BC....we stayed in touch with phone calls and Christmas Cards. Shirley use to have a huge cat named Pooh and Doreen had up to 3 dogs in the house with us , it was totally amazing how wonderful our time together was in a one bathroom house... We have lost a good friend who cared and was loved by many., I have never met Libby, we have chatted on the phone and have done emails in these modern times. When I moved west Shirley and I use to write letters to each other and I would visit when I came back for Christmas... I hope to one day meet Libby, she is caring and loving and Shirley was in the best care anyone could have in her not so better days. Libby, I'm so sorry for your loss, my thoughts are with you, 35 years together holds many loving memories for you. I hope we stay in touch, I know Shirley would want that... Best Regards and BIG HUGS.to Libby.... Jimmy

We were so very sad to hear about Shirley’s passing, dear Libby. You have both been wonderful neighbours across the street, since I first moved to Cobourg in 2007. We have spent happy times together always filled with great stories and laughter…..especially our lovely happy hours under the big old maple tree! Thirty-five years of love and happy memories will help to sustain you during this sad time, Libby, and you can sleep peacefully knowing that Shirley is resting gently. Much love Lee and David

Dear Libby Our hearts are heavy upon hearing of Shirley's passing. Shirley's sense of humor always lightened our day when the two of you came in. She will always be remembered as a strong determined woman who had the best sidekick for many years. Libby you were her always loving partner and true friend right to the end. I will always remember the story of Shirley going up on the roof in her early 80's to fix something. What a woman ! I will always be grateful that I knew her for the last 12 years. Us girls will never forget her. Rest easy Shirley, and know Libby has many friends surrounding her. Corey
