I remember Patricia when we were children & I was there neighbor. Patricia, Estelle, Elizabeth & myself we played lawn darts on the side of their house. I fractured my arm running out their back door & landed on their picnic table. Howard Gee & I send our condolences to Anne, Estelle, Elizabeth, & Stephen Cortesis for their loss.
Dear Mark, Anne, and families: I met Patricia in September 1973 as we both started at Trent. For the first year, I drove her back to Cobourg on Fridays (or was it Thursdays). It has taken me these 6 months to be able to tell you how sorry I am. Patricia looked after us at Trent as I am sure she looked after her family and students. I did end up in KPR with her but I went into psychology. We kept it going through messenger, Facebook, and Message. I am going to miss her. (49.33 years is a long time).
So sad to hear we've lost Pat. We were buddies when both of us worked at the Fleming building years ago. She was a special person and I have no doubt she'll be missed by many.
I am so very saddened to hear this news. I shared many laughs with Pat over our Teaching Careers. My deepest condolences.

I knew her as Mrs. Perkin. She was one of the teachers my public school, C.R. Gummow. She was always nice to chat with in the hallway and at recess. Condolences to her family.
I had the pleasure of working with Pat in my last 2 years of teaching at C.R. Gummow P.S. Pat was the person I went to with my computer woes; her door was always open to give assistance. Sending all the Cortesis and Perkin families much comfort in this time of sorrow. I'm so sorry for your loss.
Thinking of you all during this difficult time. Our deepest condolences.
I first met Pat while taking a Visual Arts teacher training course in Cobourg during the summer. I was new to Cobourg. Pat was not new to Cobourg. Between Pat and everyone else in the course who was from Cobourg, I learned just as much (if not more) about Cobourg’s “real” history than I ever did about Art. Pat must have liked me because she kept up a friendship with me long after the courses ended. Most memorably, it was Pat who was with me on the first day of my retirement from teaching to help me ring that silver bell and announce that I was now a free person. Every time I look at my bell, I think of Pat and her kindness and friendship. She touched many lives and left our world better for having been here. God Bless all members of her family. Best of luck in the days and weeks to come.

I grew up right around the corner from the Perkin family. My sister and I regularly babysat the kids and our mother, Jan Oliver, took care of David in our home. Eventually, I became a teacher as well. Pat was always down to earth, encouraging, warm, she had a mischievous wit, contagious smile and her spark shone through her eyes. I miss her already and want to send my condolences to the Perkin and Cortesis families. Sincerely, Cara Jack
So saddened by the passing of Patricia. Hoping the sharing of fond memories brings you comfort. Deepest sympathy.
I had the pleasure of working with Pat for several years, and I will always remember her sense of humour, mischievous smile and the candy she kept in her desk at work (much to the delight of my children, who were often on the receiving end of these sweets at the end of a long school day!) Sending love and strength to the Perkin and Cortesis families during this heartbreaking time. Megan, Stephen Sneyd, Maddie and Charlotte

I am so sad to hear about Pat’s death. I knew her best at Central School and the West Collegiate. She was quick and witty and willing to try anything - like Swamp Lake in t-shirt, tutu and hightop sneakers at annual Variety Stage Show. I admire Pat’s generous commitment to so many projects at St Peter’s Church especially the roof and church reno. My thoughts are with all who knew and loved Pat.
We are very sorry to read about Pat's passing. This was a shock to us and we are very sadden by her death. Mark, Pat & their young family lived across the road from us on Ewing Street in the 1980's & they were wonderful friends & neighbours. I (Monica) would often have a chat with Pat and her Mom, Ann, when I see them downtown by or at the bank. Pat was a very lovely, friendly & kind person with a good sense of humour and she will be missed a lot by everyone who knew her. Our deepest & most sincere condolences to Mark & his family and to Ann Cortesis & her family. May time heal & lessen the pain & sorrow that you are feeling and may fond & happy memories of Pat live in your hearts forever and give you comfort & strenght to face each day. Our thoughts & prayers are with you during this very sad time. May God bless & comfort you all. Keith & Monica

Annie, Elizabeth, Estelle, Steven and beautiful Pat's Perkin family. Our family was so saddened with the passing of a much loved former neighbour of my niece Martha and her family. [She and Craig are vacationing in Costa Rica right now.] Martha and her siblings have many fun memories, much too long to write down but they have them in their hearts. Pat was affectionately called Cheech. They all went to the Thomas Gilbard Public School and CDCI West. [Hi School] Pat's mom Annie, best baker of Baklava, always welcomed the neighbours to drop in at any time. Pat is up "there" reminiscing with her dad George and Grandma YiaYia. God Bless!!!

To my uncle and cousins, you have been in my thoughts and will continue to be. I will always treasure the memories of all the Christmases and other holidays spent with this amazing woman, mother, yiayia, teacher, and to me aunt. While I will miss both her famous baklava and razor sharp wit, it is the loss of her infectious smile, cheery laugh and amazing heart that, as a cousin of mine put it, has made the world a bit colder. Pat, you may be gone now but it will be long, long time before you are ever forgotten for, all the people's hearts you touched.

My thoughts are with you all and I am remembering your amazing Pat with love and fondness. She was a force of nature - with love at the centre she kept all things moving forward with a laugh and a smile. When I first worked with her as a new Vice Principal she smiled with a glint in her eye and assured me she'd show me what to do and she always did! She always showed up with her huge heart, a sly joke and a constant smile. I will miss her and always remember her.
My sincere condolences are extended to Pat's family and friends. I taught with Pat many years ago. I enjoyed teaching with her as she always had a positive attitude. She loved to tease me. I have wonderful memories.
My thoughts are with you all at this time. Cherish the wonderful memories and in knowing that many care. ❤️
Dear Perkin & Cortesis families...Please accept our sincere symapathy on the passing of your dear wife, mother, sister, aunt and gramma. Know you will be in our thoughts and prayers in the days ahead. "What the heart once owned will never be forgotten."
My sincere condolences Mark, Anne, and family. I first met Patria (or Mama Patricia as we called her because she tried to mother everyone) in September 1973. We became friends quickly. In first year I would drive her to Cobourg on the weekend and we would giggle all of the way to her home. Patricia was always a warm and caring person. She had a great sense of humour. Our paths would cross every now and then over the years. Our friendship was the type that allowed us pick up where we left off even if several years had passed. The last 10 years we had more regular contact because I started working with the school board. I feel privileged to have called her my friend. Rest in peace my friend. Until I see you again.
So sorry for your families loss
