Yvonne Anne Ford (nee: Ewart)

December 8, 1931 - December 24, 2022

It is with heavy hearts and much sorrow that the Family of Yvonne announces she has left this earthly life as she lived it, in celebration and love for all. At Ed’s House her hands being held and loving words being said, surrounded by her immediate family she slipped into God’s arms. Yvonne joined her husband Allan and her sister Diane in heaven. Yvonne was a Toronto girl taking courses at UofT. She had a Milliner business making hats until they unfortunately went out of style. Yvonne enjoyed floral design and oil painting and she sewed making most of her children's beautiful clothing when they were young. Church and choir were a big part of her life. Her deep faith and caring for others stayed with her throughout her life. In 1972 she moved with her husband Allan and family in tow living a country life . She volunteered at Friends of music and was a Lay Pastor in the area for years. Yvonne joined others downtown Cobourg as an adored staffer of several businesses including Mays Florists, Susan Dewhursts, Blue Box and most notingly Leonard Jewellers until she was almost 80 yrs. old. This is where she met and "adopted" her fourth daughter Susan and was caringly appointed Godmother to Paul. Anyone who had the pleasure to meet Yvonne met one of the last of the Real Ladies. Always making people feel like they were "The only one in the room". She had a beautiful quote or scripture at the ready when an occasion called for it, helping all to feel ... better. Yvonne was a beautiful woman inside and out. And loved by so many. "Bon'' loved all her great grandchildren so, and actually babysat and played with them until late. They miss her incredibly already. Yvonne was caringly nursed for weeks by her immediate family. Daughter Catherine nursed and also sang beautifully to her bringing tears to our eyes. Daughter Laura also nursed with gentle touch and words of love. Granddaughter Sarah went above and beyond with her loving nursing ways and lovely natural nutrition she made through her passionate adoration for her gramma. Son John with his strength, love and compassion for his mother. Daughter Sharon close by with love radiating, and sister Jill holding vigil with much love. There are no words in the English language that can convey the pain and sadness we are all feeling and will feel the loss for the rest of our lives. Yvonne will be so missed by her children Catherine {Don Young} Sharon {Harvey Morrison} Laura {Roger Herron} John Ford. Susan {Karol Shaw} Grandchildren Sarah {Glen Riley} Chris Morrison {Fawna} Jeremy Morrison Andrew Morrison {Marie} Nicole Herron {Josh Colley} Nigel Herron {Alison} Sister Jill {Ralph Carrol} Brother Paul Ewart. Great Grandchildren Yve, Riggs, Foster, Dylan, Cole, William, Austin, Jacob, Samantha, Isabelle, Hayden, Wyatt, Emma. Loving niece Marlene Huble. She will be missed by many friends, nieces, and nephews all too great to mention but were loved by Yvonne. Yvonne asked for a "Stroll down Memory Lane" when the flowers are being reborn when we can have a hug, a cry or a laugh talking about her amazing life and love. We know she will be there dressed to the nines! Date to follow. We would like to thank Dr. Tilley, Dr Stratford, and Dr Essak for their care And Ed’s house with its loving care from Pam, Megan and Sylvia . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre or a charity of choice.
