A Celebration of Life will be announced in the spring of 2023.
I am very sorry to hear of Marlett's passing. I had the pleasure of first meeting him when working at the library years ago and always enjoyed crossing paths with him in town. I'm sending my deepest condolences to all friends and family.
Dear Cliff and all of your extended family, I was sorry to learn of Marlett's passing. He and I used to sit side-by-side in the family history room of the library while at computers, seeking our ancestors. We always enjoyed a pleasant "hello" if on the street and often I'd see him helping someone. He was usually in the audience for our NOC concerts, too. What a kind and thoughtful man he was. Sincere condolences , Carol Evans

So shocked & saddened to hear of Marlett's passing. Met him & his Dad when they'd regularly visit the Cobourg Art Gallery (now AGN) where I worked from 1977-87. He'd tell me about his famous Grandfather - the Landscape Artist Frederic Marlett Bell-Smith, RCA. Some of his paintings are in the Permanent Collection. Also met him many times at movies at The Loft Cinema - always a catch up conversation. A quiet, gentle, kind & intelligent person. RIP - You made a lasting difference in many people's lives!
RIP Marlett you will be Miss
I have known Marlett as a good friend for many years and we've had a lot of great visits. When my wife and I moved into Legion Village, Cobourg I invited Marlett to come to my room as I had a picture on my wall from 1931. Marlett came with some of his friends and in the picture was a relative "C. M. Bell-Smith". It is a 32 inch photo of my parent's graduation from college in Toronto and he was attending. May you know God's comfort is my prayer.
Rest in peach marlett my friend

I have lots of good memories of Marlett as he was a regular at church while I grew up. We'd also see him walking downtown as kids and he'd always stop to chat. He had an air of fun and mischievousneas about him. I haven't seen him in many years but would often think of him and hope he was doing well. Praying for his family and friends during their unexpected loss.
