Just shy of her 82nd birthday. Peacefully at “Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre”, Cobourg, after a hard fought battle against cancer. Muriel leaves behind her loving husband of sixty years, Bob, of Cobourg, and her adored son Rob (Chris), of Elora. The family are devastated by her loss. Muriel is pre-deceased by her parents, Walton and Gertrude, and as well as sister Beverley, brother Donnie (Angie of Barrie) and sister Eunice (Gilbert, also pre-deceased). Muriel, also known as Mu, Momma Mu and Aunt Mu, is also survived by many dear brother and sisters-in-law, and much loved nieces and nephews. Muriel, a former secretary at Camborne Public School, loved watching the children grow and enjoyed catching up with the school parents throughout the years. Muriel was such a special lady who loved to laugh a lot, cook too much and make entertaining look so easy. Her love of Christmas makes this time of year so heartbreaking. She could strike up a conversation with anyone and would walk away with a smile on her beautiful face. Bob and Muriel were fortunate to travel throughout the years and would often venture off with Mu as the trusted co-pilot. That also gave her the opportunity to shop, which she looked forward to so much. Muriel was such a good sport and would go anywhere on a whim, just give her a minute to put her lipstick on. Muriel was the planner and organizer that we quietly relied on, and she could remember special dates like no one else. We will miss her big, caring heart, her sense of humour and her laugh. We are going to be so lost without her. Heartfelt thanks go out to friends and neighbours who dropped off food to Bob and Rob, and all those who checked in with a caring text or email. And let us not forget the kindness of Dr. Mule and the wonderful, angelic caregivers at “Ed’s House” who supported Muriel and her family throughout this journey. As per Muriel’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place in the Spring of 2023. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre, or a charity of your choice.
Sorry to hear of Muriel's passing our sympathies are with you both at this time.

The loss of our sweet Muriel (Mama Mu) has left a huge hole in our hearts. Her smile lit up the room. She loved to laugh and tell stories, and loved to hear my stories too. She was always game to split a beer! Her Christmas dinners were epic; enough food for an army. And the desserts! She is missed by her loving grand-dog Ozzie who loved her attention (and a few toast corners too). Rest in Peace, Mama. Our hearts are broken.

No words.
My condolences to Muriel's family. I knew Muriel from her days at Camborne P.S. After she left the school, we'd see each other shopping and she'd always ask about my children ... it amazed me that she remembered their names, with all the students she would see pass her desk! A lovey lady she was.

So sorry to here of Muriel s passing RIP Our condolences Bob and Rob
What a truly sad time for all who adored her. Aunt Mu always had the best facial expressions and she used them to her full advantage to get a laugh. The pursed lips and the side glance when she'd seen or heard something that she thought peculiar was my particular favorite. There are so many little things that make me think of her. I can't walk by a display of bangles without picturing her outfits perfectly matched to her jewelry, for instance. She will be so sorely missed but never forgotten. Sending all my love to Uncle Bob, Rob & Chris, and my entire family at this terribly difficult time. xoxo
