Diederika Frederika "Diane" DeJong (Wybenga, nee: Kim)

June 2, 1933 - November 15, 2022

On Thursday, November 15, 2022, God called Diane DeJong home. Diane passed peacefully and gracefully at the Northumberland Hills Hospital surrounded in the love of her family at the age of 89. Her family takes peace in knowing she has joined her first husband Minne Wybenga as well as her second husband John DeJong in the Heavenly Kingdom. Together, Diane and Minne raised their cherished children, Fred Wybenga, Joanne Almond, Cathy (Gerald) DenOuden, and Edna (Morris) Linton. In 1979 Minne passed unexpectedly. It was later that God brought together Diane and John where they were both blessed with an ever-expanding new family. Diane will be deeply missed by her stepchildren Margaret (Las) Newman, Grace (George) Stolte, Jane (Herman) Kapteyn, Minne (Richard Tyssen) DeJong, Shirley (Albert) Talsma, Robert (Minke) DeJong, Monda (Hans) Eggink, Janice (Ed) Bajema, Edith (Peter) Attema and Tracey (Shawn) Prins. Diane’s love for her family was never ending. She will be deeply missed by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as all her family in Holland. A visitation will take place Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at the Grace Christian Reformed Church, 440 King Street East, Cobourg, Ontario from 10:00 – 11:00 AM followed by a service is 11:00AM. A live stream of this service will be available to those who can not attend. Please visit https://www.gracecrcofcobourg.org/ to attend the service virtually. Friends and family are then welcomed to a reception and time of fellowship at the church following the conclusion of the service. To those who wish to attend, a burial will take place at the Bowmanville Cemetery at 3:00 PM, where Diane will be laid to rest with Minne. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Northumberland Christian School or a charity of your choice.

Minnie, and family. I am so so sorry for your loss. I have done a lot of cutting for Dianne. I cut her hair for years and then I cut her lawn for a few more. We always took the time to have a chat. I always saved Dianne for the end of the day, because, I got a cute joke, a beautiful word of wisdom, a big huge hug, and pat on the back. Her smile was addictive andShe had such a warm soul that has touch mine in so many ways. She was a wonderful woman, and I put her up in the CATAGORY of MOTHER TREASA, another pure SAINTE that I truly admired. One of our chats we had and I have never forgot, and never will was when my husband passed. She said, listen, life is way to short to spend all your time crying over missing someone that will always be with you in your heart. She said, you will have plenty of time to do all that when it is your turn. So make the best of it and live for the living. Stop being selfish. God takes care of the ones he takes home. Please find comfort in each other. Spend all your time talking about her and always look for that smile on your many travels down memory lane.
